Creative Health Services is currently accepting applications for a part-time After School Counselor position working with K-5 children at an SFUSD After-School Program in San Francisco’s Duboce Park neighborhood. This associateship is for the remainder of the 2025-26 academic year, and is available to applicants who have completed a Masters degree program and have graduated and registered with the BBS as an MFT Associate. The After School Counselor provides individual, group and milieu counseling for K-5 children, and therapeutic support for parents and staff. The After School Counselor is required to be onsite 12 hours/week, completed in 3 (Three) 4-hour afternoon shifts/week. Since most of the hours involve direct client contact, associates are able to accrue 10 client hours each week throughout the year. Over the course of the school year, associates are able to accrue a majority of the 500 children's hours required for MFT licensure. Prior experience working with children, especially in a school setting, is preferred. This internship includes a $750 monthly stipend and weekly individual supervision with a licensed supervisor. Training will focus on helping Associates to develop effective trauma-informed expressive arts and somatic interventions in a community setting. Training utilizes an integrative strength-based systems approach aimed at understanding and treating the community-as-a-whole. To apply, please e-mail a résumé, 2 references (telephone or written), and a letter of intent indicating your specific interest in working with children to: Craig Garfinkel, Ph.D. Director, Creative Health Services creativehealthservices@gmail.com
