Puffer Malarkey Collective new restaurant in La Jolla, a French steakhouse concept, dinner only, 6 days/week. This is a complete remodel in the historic and gorgeous building on Herschel Ave (previously Herringbone). We’re looking for cooks to work at our fun and casual resort restaurant at Campland on the Bay in the beautiful Pacific Beach neighborhood of San Diego (92109). We need help with cooking, preparing and seasoning soups, burgers, tacos, burritos, pizzas and more. Help us ensure our standard and special menu entrees look and taste great and reach our customers in a timely manner. Ideal candidates will have prior experience working as a line and prep cook and will memorize the menu fast. We hope you’re able to communicate in a professional way with our entire restaurant and bar team as well as team members from other departments. You also must have a current San Diego County Food Handlers' card, be well-versed in safe, sanitary food handling, follow directions and safety procedures, and report to work on time for scheduled shifts. A willingness to work on whatever needs to get done and a sense of restaurant urgency is also important to successful job performance. Campland on the Bay is open every day of the year and this means you must be available to work morning, afternoon or evening shifts on weekdays, weekends and holidays. EOE On any given day, you’ll do several or all of these tasks: • Work closely and professionally with our other cooks, bartenders, barbacks, cashiers and runners • Prep and timely cook (grill, fry, deep-fry, toast or bake) regular and special menu items • Change out fryer grease • Prep adequate quantities of ingredients for upcoming shifts • Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen work areas • Deep clean the kitchen and kitchen equipment as directed • Receive deliveries • Stock food and non-food supplies • Wash dishes, pots and pans and utensils • Open or close the kitchen Required Education and/or Experience • Current San Diego County Food Handlers' card • Minimum of two years' experience in a similar fast-casual restaurant
