Description Being a Trainer at Pressed Roots, means that you have mastered the art of textured hair. Pressed Roots is a place where everyone is passionate about making everyone around them feel seen, beautiful, and comfortable. This includes their coworkers and their clients. Our Trainers at Pressed Roots are guiding and leading our stylist in serving up the best silk blowouts in town, while also providing a professional, memorable, luxury experience. Key Responsibilities Training & Education Lead stylist cohort training at the Plano Training Center, covering technical hair skills, product knowledge, and salon operations (including Barbicide protocols, The Tab system, and sanitation best practices). Conduct quarterly technical audits in collaboration with leadership to ensure all stylists maintain service standards. Develop and facilitate ongoing education classes tailored to stylist needs, partnering with the Training Department to refine curriculum. Provide advanced training and skill coaching for stylists struggling with timing, technical skills, or client satisfaction. Coaching & Studio Support Work closely with shop leadership to address and de-escalate hair quality concerns, providing hands-on coaching and up-training as needed. Participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions hosted by the Training Department, maintaining alignment with company standards. Respond to all Pressed Roots emails and communications in a timely manner. Leadership & Mentorship Serve as a technical expert and mentor, educating team members on best practices for textured hair care while ensuring integrity and quality in services. Provide real-time feedback to stylists, supporting their professional growth and skill development. Act as a liaison between the leadership team, recruiting team, and stylist team, ensuring consistent communication and feedback. Lead by example, upholding Pressed Roots policies, methodology, and culture, including adherence to dress code, time and attendance, and company values. Foster a motivational and supportive learning environment, encouraging stylists to achieve their full potential. Master Stylist Responsibilities & Standards Maintain all Master Stylist skill sets and responsibilities, including: Providing exceptional customer service, even in challenging situations. Maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times. Adhering to TDLR safety and cleanliness standards, ensuring proper sanitation of workstations, tools, and client areas. Demonstrating reliability and punctuality, arriving early and fully prepared for cohort trainings. Utilizing Google Drive, Google Calendar, and email platforms to manage training schedules and communications effectively. Requirements Valid Texas cosmetology license Must always effectively and consistently use the Pressed Roots Method to produce Silk blowouts at Pressed Roots Must work at least 30 hours per week on average Allow new stylists to shadow you Help educate on the Pressed Roots Method Answer questions about product usage, and provide any tips and tricks that may be useful Essential Functions Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 9 hours). Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions to demonstrate styling techniques, such as holding and manipulating blow dryers, round brushes, flat irons, and scissors. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Ability to reach overhead to perform styling & cleaning tasks. Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel to access styling tools, assist customers/staff, and/or maintain Studio cleanliness.
