Client - Centered Transit Driver

VIA Transit is a leading provider of paratransit services that operates on-demand, reservation-based transportation and offers a blended capacity model to optimize dedicated and non-dedicated fleets . We also provide fixed-route, shuttle, and student transportation services. ABOUT THE JOB: We are seeking dependable and compassionate Paratransit Drivers to provide safe and timely transportation for individuals with mobility needs. This role is critical in ensuring passengers reach their destinations comfortably and efficiently. Multiple shifts are available to fit your schedule. Available Shifts: Morning Shift: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM Afternoon Shift: 12:00 Noon – 6:00 PM Applicants must specify their preferred shift when applying. Key Responsibilities: Safely transport passengers to and from scheduled destinations. Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including those using mobility aids. Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance. Adhere to traffic laws and company policies. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with passengers, caregivers, and staff. Keep accurate records of trips and passenger information. Ensure vehicle cleanliness and report any maintenance needs. Requirements: Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required). Clean driving record. Ability to provide excellent customer service, especially to individuals with special needs. Ability to work the designated shift reliably. Must pass a background check, drug screening, etc. Prior paratransit or similar driving experience is a plus but not required. What We Offer: Competitive pay.
