Associate Grocery Food Buyer **Must Be a Current Grocery Food Buyer Salary: $85,000–$90,000 plus bonus and benefits Location: On-site at our corporate office in College Point, NY Our food company is seeking an Associate Grocery Food Buyer responsible for the profitable procurement and timely delivery of frozen food products for assigned lines. This role works closely with the Senior Vice President of Purchasing to achieve company goals. The Associate Frozen Food Buyer provides supply chain and inventory management for promotionally active categories while meeting corresponding financial accountabilities. Products are procured in accordance with all company policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities include: Order food products to meet forecasted demand. Secure the best possible product costs, quality, and service at all times. Ensure all established policies and procedures are understood and followed. Achieve inventory and turn goals while maintaining service levels and minimizing distress. Interface with various departments and division personnel to accomplish job functions. Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, store operations, the distribution center, and division office personnel. Review acquisition costs to ensure purchases are made at the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and urgency. Assess current inventory, market conditions, availability, and promotional impact to forecast order quantities and make recommendations to the merchandising team. Conduct post-promotional reviews to evaluate results and develop solutions for improvement. Resolve store-level inventory issues caused by allocations or order discrepancies. Review and analyze daily and weekly reports to monitor costs, quality, service levels, inventory turns, and distress, making adjustments as needed. Visit stores, as required, to monitor programs, gather feedback, and assess implementation effectiveness. Manage Accounts Payable variance processes for distribution-sourced items to ensure correct invoicing. Resolve store billing questions by researching discrepancies, issuing credits, or providing appropriate resolutions. Maintain all necessary department files and records. Coordinate with Warehouse Operations to maintain proper product flow through the facility in a timely manner. Access buying systems remotely when necessary to manage responsibilities offsite.   Requirements Marketing/Logistics experience preferred or strong understanding of store operations and merchandising methodologies and practices. Understanding of grocery procurement, logistics, inventory management, marketing, accounting and financial management practices Excellent organizational and analytical skills; ability to take initiative and make fact- based decisions. Ability to plan and organize effectively. Written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective business relationships both internally and externally. At Whiteline Express, you’ll keep our trucks and trailers running strong. You’ll handle diagnostics, maintenance, and full repairs on brakes, transmissions, rear-ends, clutches, diesel engines, electrical systems, and welding or fabrication work. You’ll remove, fix, reinstall, and adjust parts, inspect your work, and make sure everything meets safety rules and regulations. You’ll also lead the crew, assign tasks, check work, guide on tough repairs, and help train others. You’ll manage parts using TMT, handle after-hours repairs when needed, respond to service calls, and keep maintenance records up to date. You’ll open and close the shop and make sure everything runs smoothly and safely. We’re looking for someone with solid diesel mechanic experience (lead or supervisory experience is a plus), strong mechanical, electrical, and welding skills, and the ability to use diagnostic tools and repair software (TMT a bonus). You need a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or willing to get one) and the flexibility to work varied hours, including after-hours calls. What You’ll be doing as a Diesel Mechanic: Supervise shift mechanics by assigning tasks, verifying completed work, and assisting with training and disciplinary actions as needed. Authorize and oversee after-hours repairs in alignment with company policies and procedures. Manage parts inventory using TMT, including ordering, receiving, and tracking of parts and supplies. Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and full-service repairs on heavy-duty vehicles and trailers, including work on brakes, transmissions, rear-ends, clutches, diesel engines, electrical systems, and welding/fabrication tasks. Remove, repair, reinstall, and adjust vehicle components; conduct thorough final inspections to ensure all repairs meet federal and state safety regulations. Complete detailed work orders and maintain accurate maintenance and repair records. Respond to on-site service calls and provide support as needed. Collaborate with technicians and provide guidance on complex repairs and troubleshooting. Open and close the maintenance facility, ensuring readiness and security of operations. Diesel Mechanic Required Qualifications: Proven experience as a diesel mechanic; supervisory or lead technician experience preferred. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair software (experience with TMT a plus). Strong mechanical, electrical, and welding skills. Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
