Position Summary: The Freight Technician is responsible for coordinating and handling the shipping and receiving of goods, ensuring timely and accurate freight movement. This role supports warehouse and logistics operations by verifying shipment information, inspecting goods, preparing freight documentation, and assisting with loading and unloading shipments in compliance with company and carrier standards. In addition to hands-on freight handling, this role involves maintaining a clean and organized dock area, inspecting materials for damage or discrepancies, and proactively addressing any issues that may delay the shipping or receiving process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming freight against shipping documentation Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company and carrier guidelines Accurately document shipment details including weight, dimensions, and contents Schedule freight pickups and coordinate with transportation providers Update internal systems to track inventory and freight movement Ensure compliance with safety, security, and company procedures Identify damaged or missing items and report discrepancies Assist with inventory cycle counts and audits as needed Maintain a clean and organized freight and dock area. Track and trace shipments, ensuring that any delays or issues are promptly addressed and communicated to the relevant parties. Other duties as assigned by your supervisor. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years of experience in freight, preferably in a manufacturing or remanufacturing environment. Experience in automotive or transmission remanufacturing industries (strongly preferred). Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work cross-functionally with other teams within Production. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to lift and move inventory items as needed. Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.
