Job Title: Fabricator/Welder The Fabricator/Welder plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, responsible for fabricating and welding metal components and structures according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. This role requires a skilled professional with expertise in metal fabrication techniques, welding processes, and equipment operation. Interpret technical drawings, select appropriate materials, and use various tools and machinery to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts. Responsibilities also include operating welding equipment to join metal components using MIG, TIG, or stick welding techniques, and performing quality inspections to ensure structural integrity and adherence to welding standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, including proficiency in welding procedures and metalworking tools. 2nd shift: Monday-Thursday, 3:30pm – 2:00am Pay: $22-29 Job location: Racine, WI Job Type: Direct Hire Essential Functions • Interpretation of Technical Drawings: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to understand fabrication and welding requirements for metal components and structures. • Material Preparation: Select appropriate materials based on project specifications, and prepare metal surfaces by cutting, grinding, and cleaning to ensure proper fit-up and weldability. • Fabrication Techniques: Utilize metalworking tools and equipment such as saws, drills, shears, and bending machines to cut, shape, and form metal parts according to design requirements. • Welding Operations: Perform welding operations using various techniques, including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), or stick welding, to join metal components together with precision and structural integrity. • Welding Procedure Compliance: Adhere to welding procedures, standards, and specifications, ensuring that welds meet quality and code requirements for strength, durability, and appearance. • Weld Inspection: Conduct visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections of welded joints to verify weld quality, detect defects, and ensure compliance with welding standards and specifications. • Quality Assurance: Monitor fabrication and welding processes to maintain quality standards and prevent defects, identifying and addressing issues promptly to meet project requirements and customer expectations. • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of fabrication and welding activities, including material usage, welding parameters, inspection results, and project documentation, to ensure traceability and compliance with quality assurance procedures. Requirements • Ability to handle and work with various types of metals and alloys, including steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and others, understanding their properties and characteristics for fabrication and welding. • Experience in conducting visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) of welded joints to ensure weld quality, detect defects, and comply with welding standards and specifications. • Knowledge of safety protocols and guidelines for welding operations, including proper handling of welding equipment, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to safety procedures to prevent accidents or injuries. • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and working in various positions and environments, often in confined spaces or at heights. Education and Experience •A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a welder, preferably in a manufacturing environment •Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA, etc.) •Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.) •Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.) Must have own face-shield. •Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs •Professional Certification (i.e., an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus

Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, ANSI, and utility-specific transformer quality guidelines. Maintain detailed records and reports on quality performance metrics, including first-pass yield rates, defects per unit, and corrective actions taken. Conduct internal audits to monitor quality control effectiveness and regulatory adherence. Develop and implement employee training programs on quality control methods, process improvement techniques, and safety compliance. Foster a culture of accountability and quality awareness, ensuring employees understand their role in maintaining product integrity. Required Qualifications: Some college coursework preferred (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality-related fields a plus). 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in quality assurance or quality control. Prior leadership experience supervising inspectors, testers, or quality teams. Strong knowledge of transformer testing processes, electrical inspection methods, and industry regulations. Experience with calibration of test equipment and maintaining compliance with ISO/ANSI standards. Proficiency in root cause analysis (RCA), CAPA, and failure analysis methodologies. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems (QMS).   Work Environment & Physical Demands: Manufacturing floor and office-based environment. We are looking for an experienced Metallurgist with knowledge of material testing and analysis. Ideally, you will know manufacturing processes, materials, and substances, possess strong analytical skills, and understand material and failure analysis techniques. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of experience. Only candidates legally authorized to work in the U.S. will be considered.  Responsibilities: Answer technical questions, analyze inspection data, and review lab test results Conduct failure analysis on materials from manufacturing, engineering, or quality Technical control of sediment and metallurgical process, including setup, auditing, and writing technical specifications and control sheets Direct production and quality control team members on proper testing procedures and review Met Lab test results Engage with internal and external customers to determine application requirements and solve related problems Conduct and oversee the process of conducting chemical analysis on new parts Instruct Met Lab Techs on how to operate lab equipment safely and conduct testing with a minimal amount of interruption to the production process Conduct quarterly and annual tests and prepare reports Manage lab schedule to ensure coverage during regular hours, overtime, and weekends Schedule standing shift meetings, including safety talks Ensure lab equipment is operating correctly and calibrations are completed regularly Requirements A degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science is highly preferred.
