RMC has an Environmental Scientist position supporting the Environmental Management Program of a large federal agency.  Responsibilities include interpreting various federal and state environmental laws, conducting compliance audits, developing audit report findings, conducting environmental training, and supporting outreach initiatives. This position has the ability to work remotely in one of the following locations: Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, or Oklahoma (neighboring states may be considered). This position will require up to 25% travel. Requirements   The successful candidate will have: A bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field, plus three to five (3-5) years of relevant work experience. Experience with hazardous materials/hazardous waste management and regulatory compliance analysis.  Working knowledge of federal environmental policies, Executive Orders, and regulations such as RCRA, CAA, and CWA. Experience managing and implementing federal environmental programs, policies, and standard operating procedures. Experience with Environmental Management Systems (EMS), ISO 14001, and environmental compliance auditing. Experience supporting the development of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation.  Knowledge of energy conservation, recycling, and related green sustainability initiatives. Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities. Excellent writing, oral communication, and presentation skills. Security Clearance: This position requires an active Public Trust clearance. The selected qualified candidate will be required to successfully complete a background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to be adjudicated for a Public Trust clearance. Desired Skills Experience supporting federal program managers and excellent customer engagement skills. Ability to monitor and track program/project performance and support reporting requirements. Ability to analyze and present technical data to technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with developing and providing environmental compliance training; classroom and web-based. Certified Hazardous Material Manager certification and ISO 14001 auditing experience. *Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. SCHEDULE: Night Shift This position offers four 10 hour shifts with an 8pm PT start time. The 4 days will be between Tuesday and Sunday. Hours worked between 9pm and 4am will receive a 10% night shift differential. Additionally, if scheduled to work hours on both Saturday and Sunday, a $200 weekend differential will be provided.
