Senior Telecommunications Network Engineer

This role focuses on leading the design, deployment, and optimization of complex telecommunications networks for large-scale projects. You will work on both legacy and next-generation technologies, translating business needs into reliable and scalable network solutions. The position involves designing infrastructure for voice, data, video, and wireless systems, performing in-depth engineering analyses, and providing strategic recommendations to support modernization efforts. You will manage projects, oversee teams, and present technical insights to stakeholders, ensuring efficient delivery of high-quality telecom solutions. Accountabilities
In this role, you will:
· Translate business requirements into LAN, CAN, WAN, voice, and video network designs and orders.
· Conduct engineering analyses of telecommunications alternatives for government and public safety networks.
· Design and oversee cable/wiring infrastructure for construction projects, including voice, data, video, and wireless systems.
· Supervise projects, staff, and contractors to ensure successful execution.
· Provide program management services, including preparing and delivering presentations to national, state, and local officials.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
· Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience with IT systems and telecom technologies, covering both legacy switching and next-generation networks.
· Strong knowledge in configuration and maintenance of gateways, routers, switches, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, network servers, multiplexers, calling card platforms, TDM, Dialogic, and VoIP systems (SIP, H.323 protocols, dial peers, and carrier trunking).
· Experience in designing and analyzing medium to large-scale telecommunications infrastructures.
· Proven ability to supervise teams, manage projects, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail in system design and implementation.
