Synthetic Turf and Playground Installation Leader/Laborer (Sand Island)

We require a highly motivated and organized person to work with and help lead our installers and oversee the day-to-day management and installation of playgrounds, recreation equipment, shades and surfacing projects for residential, commercial, and public facilities throughout the Islands. This includes installations, service and all field activities related to the physical construction of the job and any coordinated sub-contractors, organized processes, while keeping track of the big picture. Identifying potential areas of improvement, implementing policies and strategies to improve service, productivity, safety, efficiency levels and building an enjoyable company culture. Ideal Candidate: The individual must have experience in construction and have the experience and ability to work on site and lead small construction projects, be a problem solver, a good communicator, well organized and possess exceptional time management and organizational skills. 3-5 years of construction related experience Carpentry skills Construction and/or landscape background Familiar with installation of synthetic turf / playground equipment Knowledge of construction contracts, subcontracts Strong problem-solving skills and ability to professionally communicate and provide solutions to team Highly organized and very detail oriented Must have own vehicle, a clean driving record and valid state driver’s license Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills Regular, reliable and predictable attendance Be able to multi-task and to meet deadlines Excellent leadership, follow up and communication skills Job Type: Full-time. Four 10 hour days Monday - Thursday. Some Fridays, weekends, and outer island jobs - as needed Pay: $30 - $45 hour Depending Upon Experience and prevailing wages on government jobs. Experience: 3-5 years of construction related experience and project management Position requirements/ responsibilities: work on site and manage projects Project planning: daily plan of action and goals for each job Review and know all contract terms, conditions, and execute all obligations associated with the project contract. Assist in the project schedule throughout the project lifecycle and secure any unique materials and/or equipment required to complete the project. manage subcontracted work as required. Assist in scheduling of jobs and appropriate team members Participate in job pre cons and post walkthroughs Document progress of jobs with photos and notes, before, during and after Lead, manage, train and evaluate team members Collaborate with Operations Manager in conducting weekly informative employee meetings to brief crews on the schedule for the week, goals for the day, safety protocols, review of previous jobs and identify areas that will improve operations, performance and employee gratification/fulfillment. Perform onsite training of products and installation protocol as necessary Collaborate with Operations Manager in conducting project planning and scheduling, including conducting crew in pre and post job briefings/meetings Inspire and motivate employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement and incentive initiatives and formulate performance improvement plans Supervise and monitor the daily activities of project team to ensure compliance with company procedures, policies, safety standards and quality standard. Promote, monitor and encourage safe working practices. Engage in continuing education and training for the team train new employees. Mentor, evaluate employee work and productivity, and develop employees Client Communications Manage relationship with the customer to schedule work and coordinate services Initiates and maintains continued client contact and updates on projects.
