Bodega Bay Veterinary Hospital is hiring for the following position: Hospital Attendant or Veterinary Assistant, or RVT, to join our team! PT / FT position available. We need a team member who is mature and reliable, has a positive attitude, can think on their feet, and interact positively with our staff and clients. Have you always wanted to work with animals but weren't sure where to start? Well, BBVH may be the place for you! We are looking for a Hospital Attendant who will be a hard-working and dependable team member to help with housekeeping duties and to support our veterinary assistants. Veterinary Assistant experience is preferable, but not required for the right person. We will welcome more experienced candidates who may apply. Veterinary Assistant responsibilities include: animal restraint, taking patient histories, maintenance and cleaning of exam room and surgery room, client communication, scheduling, assisting doctors in room, administering vaccines/injections, collecting/preparing lab samples, running in-house diagnostic testing, taking digital x-rays, surgical assistance, general nursing care, and other tasks including stocking of supplies and cleaning of our hospital. RVT responsibilities would include all VA duties as well as induction, monitoring, and recovery of anesthetic patients, placement of I.V. catheters, intubation, and monitoring of vital signs. Ability to perform dental X-rays, prophylaxis and extractions is preferable. BBVH is a small but busy day-only practice. We remain a privately owned family practice offering high-quality, surgical, medical, diagnostic, and health maintenance care for family pets. We’re small town: we know our clients and patients personally and we treat them with the compassion and respect they deserve.
