Who we are: Fuse builds innovative communications, networking, and computing solutions that improve the sharing of information, video, text, and voice among operators distributed throughout the airborne, maritime, and ground environments.  We are a technology firm creating in-house software, network and hardware solutions that support our noble cause of advancing warfighter capabilities with elegant, user-focused communications, networks, and software systems.  About this role: Fuse Integration is looking for an energetic and creative Technical Writer experienced with software and hardware engineering projects, network integration, basis of design, and specification documentation.  This is an intermediate level position which requires highly developed writing skills, attention to detail, an appreciation for technical design and development, and a commitment to crafting the best possible user experience.  Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of experience producing detailed technical documents and experience with DoD system design documents and specifications.  Must be a nimble self-starter who thrives in a flexible, dynamic, start-up environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Write and edit technical documentation for a variety of audiences, including external and internal product end-users, engineers, clients, vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders Adapt documentation and approach based on the needs of the intended audience Empathize with users and build relationships with experts across the team to understand needs and pain points and to develop a presentable body of knowledge on our products and projects Develop system design, integration, test, and instructional documentation through consultation with relevant engineers Prepare and edit system certification and accreditation packages in coordination with cybersecurity engineers and program managers Mold engineering intent into guidance for operators in work instructions and user manuals Prepare or source illustrative materials from the team of engineers and designers Continuously improve documentation technically and stylistically Own the documentation user experience and work with design team to ensure consistent branding and user-experience upheld across Fuse Own the user documentation process through the optimal use of tools across product lines including Confluence, Jira, Gitlab, Microsoft Office, and others Requirements 3-5 years of experience technical writing for electronics and/or software system products for defense, commercial, or industrial markets Experience writing hardware and software integration manuals and design documents Excellent verbal and written communication skills Expert Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) Proficient with Adobe Acrobat Deadline-driven. Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and see projects/tasks through to closure Self-motivated, disciplined, and confident Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Highly collaborative US citizen Able to work locally in San Diego Your own unique talents!
