Centric Services (“Centric”) delivers industry-leading high-speed internet through Centric Fiber and natural gas services through its UniGas division. Centric serves ground-up commercial and residential developments, as well as master-planned communities in all major metropolitan markets across Texas and Central Florida. As the only integrated telecom and natural gas provider currently in the market, Centric is rapidly expanding into new regions due to its advantageous dual-model approach. Our team is dedicated to bridging infrastructure gaps through strategic value creation and continuous innovation. We are looking for a fiber technician, internally known as a Giga Guide, that will be a key interface for subscribers in residential communities. The main responsibility of the Giga Guide will be to convert residential homebuyers into Centric Fiber customers and install the proper internet equipment within each home. This is a field-based position, in which you would be reporting to our office location in The Villages then traveling out into the field for your work within our Centric communities. Responsibilities: Provide customer assistance, education and information on services, customer equipment and products. Promote marketing and sales efforts during each customer and potential customer contact. Take appropriate action to expedite workflow to consistently meet customer appointments and company commitments. Support customer owned integrations/connectivity – e.g., troubleshooting Alexa devices, TV WiFi connectivity, laptop connectivity, etc. Interface with customer and technical service departments to collaborate on subscriber issues, develop troubleshooting and corrective action plans, work scheduling, and ticket clearing. Install, service, disconnect, change, or reconnect telephony and modem equipment, serving customer residences. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with all applicable company procedures and in compliance with all municipal, state, and federal laws and guidelines. Work assigned office shifts that will include answering inbound phone calls (i.e. Tech Support, Sales, Billing, etc) and provide sales floor coverage for store walk-in customers. Cover after hour on-call shifts that require answering inbound calls, responding to online emails and chats, and dispatching to appointments, as needed, for high priority issues that may arise while on-call (this is usually a weeklong coverage that rotates amongst all active Giga Guides). Participate in community and company social media outlets – monitor company commentary, respond to complaints and accolades, monitor community happenings. From time-to-time report back to operations on the status of community development activities – e.g., home build inventory, construction starts, closings, etc. Practice and uphold all company safety standards, inclusive of COVID-19 safety measures when servicing a subscriber home. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. 2+ years of related telecommunications or mass media experience. Previous Customer Service experience. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Ability to work hours that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
