Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records and documentation. Collaborate with other health practitioners to ensure coordinated patient care. Participate in community outreach programs to promote acupuncture and holistic health. Requirements Valid acupuncture license in the state of practice. POSITION PURPOSE Under general supervision of the Administrative Director of Laboratory, the Phlebotomist is responsible for collection, reception and distribution of specimens. Performs various clerical duties including reporting and client supplies distribution, performing limited specimen analysis as trained, under the direction of the Pathologist and Laboratory Director. Compares information on patient armband to the lab test order to confirm a match. Takes appropriate corrective action to resolve any discrepancies prior to specimen collection. Appropriately labels all tubes and containers with required elements in the presence of the patient. Organizes workload appropriately to: collect all specimens, transport to the laboratory, receive and distribute specimens in a timely manner. Collects chain of custody drug screens per established procedure. Enters test orders. Keeps work area neat and clean. As workload dictates, both assigned shift and work station may be changed. Adheres to infection prevention protocols with every patient encounter. Abides by the HMH Legal Compliance Code of Conduct and all HMH policies.
