Ash & Harris Executive Search is looking for an Insurance Defense Attorney (Construction Labor Litigation) Overview: Our client, a prestigious full-service law firm with over 150 years of legal excellence, seeks a skilled Insurance Defense Attorney to join its Construction Labor Litigation Practice Group. The firm specializes in construction litigation and insurance defense, serving insurers, contractors, and construction professionals. This role offers a clear path to partnership for motivated candidates—whether experienced in construction law or strong litigators looking to transition into this high-demand niche. Key Responsibilities: Represent clients in insurance defense matters, including construction accidents, labor disputes, and contract issues. Manage litigation from inception to resolution (pleadings, discovery, motions, mediation, and trial). Advise clients on risk management, labor law compliance (e.g., NY Labor Law § 240/241), and indemnity issues. Draft and review litigation documents (motions, discovery responses, settlement agreements). Collaborate with insurers, experts, and co-counsel to develop case strategy. Maintain a caseload while meeting court deadlines and client expectations. Stay updated on legal developments in construction law, OSHA, and insurance defense. Requirements: Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active New York Bar license (New Jersey Bar admission a plus). Experiences: Minimum 3 years of litigation experience (insurance defense or construction law preferred). Familiarity with construction legal issues (e.g., indemnification, OSHA, labor laws). Other: Strong research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills. Ability to independently manage complex litigation. Compensation and Benefits: Salary: $105,000 – $150,000 (commensurate with experience).
