Traffic Control Yard Technician
ViaSun Corporation is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Traffic Control Yard Technician to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for managing traffic control equipment, ensuring that all devices are well-maintained and ready for deployment at construction sites.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Load and unload traffic control trucks with cones, barricades, signage, message boards, and other necessary equipment based on work orders or job setups.
Ensure all equipment is accounted for and in good working condition prior to deployment and upon return.
Perform daily inspections of traffic control gear and report damaged or missing items.
Clean, organize, and store equipment in designated yard areas for quick access and efficient reloading.
Maintain accurate counts of cones, barricades, signs, and related materials using checklists or digital inventory tools.
Track usage and assist in reordering supplies to avoid shortages.
Tag and record defective or out-of-service equipment for repair or replacement.
Adhere to all OSHA, DOT, and company-specific safety policies, including the proper use of PPE at all times.
Keep work areas clean and free of hazards; report unsafe conditions immediately.
Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard assessments.
Assist with light repairs and maintenance of yard equipment and tools.
Support traffic control crews as needed with prep work, loading help, or organizing site-specific loads.
To qualify for this role, you should have at least 1 year of experience in a related field, such as equipment maintenance or construction. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. A valid driver's license is also required.

Requirements
1+ year of experience in equipment maintenance, construction, or a related field.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Valid driver's license.
Familiarity with traffic control devices and safety standards is a plus.
