Description

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials within the facility. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety protocols, and effective materials handling. Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load and unload materials. Perform order picking and ensure accurate shipping and receiving of goods. Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems to track inventory. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety and compliance with OSHA regulations. Assist in heavy lifting and moving of products throughout the warehouse. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve efficiency. Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards. Support other warehouse functions as needed, including construction tasks when required. Proven experience in warehouse distribution or similar roles. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including forklifts and cranes. Knowledge of materials handling processes and best practices. Experience with order picking, shipping & receiving, and warehouse management systems. Mechanical knowledge is preferred for troubleshooting equipment issues. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required by the role. Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols. QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma or equivalent (GED). • Vocational or technical training in custodial trades preferred. • At least one (1) year experience in either a public or commercial custodial position preferred. • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, administration, and the general public. • Ability to lift, shove, pull, push, and carry objects weighing at least fifty (50) pounds. • Valid Washington State driver’s license preferred. • Demonstrated ability to use good judgment in accessing, prioritizing, scheduling, and completing custodial work. • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent or designee may find appropriate and acceptable. • Ability to work alone and as a team member with the flexibility to work in all areas of the building. WORKING CONDITIONS Incumbents typically experience daily: • Standing for prolonged periods.
