Established awning company looking for skilled mechanic/tradesman to install awnings in the Richmond Area. Don't apply if you do not have at least 2 years of construction experience. Must be in good physical condition and able to accomplish standard construction tasks. Full Time career position. Report to the shop everyday and drive Company Vehicle to job site. Must have drivers license, be dependable, detail oriented and hard working. Company supplied tools and uniforms. Must be OK with ladders. Health care, paid vacation, and paid holidays after 90 days. Must be able to accurately read a tape measure, add and subtract basic fractions, and can identify and describe the use of standard construction tools. Qualified Applications should be able to correctly answer questions like these: 1. What is the difference between an impact driver and a hammer drill? 2. If you have a pipe that is 22 1/2” long and cut a piece that is 8 ¼” long off and then another that is 3 5/8” long of the same pipe, how long is the piece of pipe that you have left over? Assume that the saw blade is 1/8” thick. 3. Describe the difference between a pan head screw and a bolt and when would you use each? Please include answers in response to the ad. Include a resume if available. We drug test new applicants. We do not test for marijuana.

EXPERIENCE WITH INSTALLATION OF INSULATED METAL PANELS IS A PLUS. Lead & monitor team members to ensure operations flow and work is being performed safely and quality. Work alongside and supervise workers responsible for miscellaneous construction projects. Ensure that crew complies with site rules, safety, and construction standards. Prepare and submit accurate, detailed, written daily reports for the project. Keep the team’s energy and spirits up. Resolve issues between workers or fire employees who don’t pull their weight. Communicate instructions, inspect work, and work side-by-side with their employees to demonstrate techniques or help. Provide assistance to Site Safety, Health, and Substance Abuse Program to ensure the safety and well being of all personnel at the job sites. Maintain communications with Project Manager to ensure proper coordination of the project among the on-site office, job site operations and subcontractors/suppliers for the project. MUST HAVE: Minimum 5 years of Foreman experience in the construction industry with a commercial and/or industrial general contractor performing general construction work. Experience in supervising/managing employees and motivating them to complete projects on schedule. Knowledge and experienced in carpentry, including but not limited to; metal frame, drywall, doors & hardware, acoustical ceilings, flooring, painting, etc.. Ability to read blue prints and construction plans, maintain equipment and manage paperwork. Good communication, management, and coordination skills. Must have current Driver’s License, OSHA Safety Course Certification, Operator licenses, Red Cross First Aid; and CPR Certification.
