Growing Southern California Distributor is in search of a career oriented, skilled employee for its Merchandiser Specialist Position in the San Diego County Area. This is a Full time position with paid mileage. We have the highest standards in our industry and are seeking candidates that are clean cut, well-groomed and customer service oriented. Every Day will have a different starting point. Your day starts when you get to your first stop and ends at your last stop. Job Summary: The merchandiser will directly impact the sales process by having continuous contact with deli staff, receivers, and department managers. You would be responsible for calling on an assigned itinerary of stores and delivering superior in-store customer service by merchandising store shelves, displays, demoing product and provide in-store training. The work schedule is demanding; the merchandiser will work mainly early mornings Monday thru Friday. The merchandiser will be commuting to scheduled stores on a daily basis and sometimes to other locations for special projects, as assigned by their supervisor. Knowledge, skills and abilities preferred: - Knowledge of Grocery and Deli industries. - Strong communication skills needed to communicate with all levels of management internally and with external store management, clerks and customers - Strong organizational skills needed for the organization, rotating and stocking shelves during each store visit. - Intermediate Computer Skills: proficiency of Microsoft Office: Word - Ability to maintain a professional demeanor with the public and store personnel when performing your duties. - Ability to work independently and drive results. Must follow instructions and work independently as well as work under time constraints. - Adaptability/Flexibility, with the ability to react quickly to changing requirements from internal and external conditions while maintaining good communication with all parties involved. Impromptu store visits and work with customers schedule. - Critical Thinking: Use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Will coordinate with other staff to help resolve any order issues and concerns - Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, kneel and lift up to 35 pounds for extended periods as required. - Safe driving record, valid drivers license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation - Ability to work flexible hours We are an Equal Opportunity Employer Job Type: Full-time Benefits: • Flexible schedule Work Location: On the road
