TITLE: Cardiovascular Tech / Cardiac Cath Lab Tech / RCIS / RT(R, CV) LOCATION: Huron, Ohio   An opportunity to work in north central Ohio for an established healthcare system of 400 beds that serves four counties. What you will be doing: •Provides professional, highly technical cardiovascular care to all cardiovascular patients, while assisting physicians during all cardiovascular procedures.  Functions as a liaison for patients, families, and physicians.  Assists the physician in the operation of technical equipment utilized during all procedures. •Assists with setting up cardiac cath lab procedure rooms by providing necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment. •Knowledge of equipment utilized in procedures, pressure monitoring, cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, EKG interpretation, sterile technique, and radiation safety practices. •Proficient in scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring for all Cath Lab procedures. •Inspects and prepares operative area as necessary. •Communicates relevant procedural information to physician and ancillary personnel. •Observes sterile technique and proper disposal of infected materials. •Records EKG information, samples and records pressure tracings, and informs appropriate personnel of changes during procedure.  Maintains complete documentation of cardiovascular procedures.  Ensures completion of all registry abstracts. Prepares patient for emergency coronary artery bypass graft by completing proper documentation, sending necessary blood work to lab, and notifying CV team. •Documents all medications given, contrast injections, and attempts at vessel modification (e.g. inflations, shaves, stent placement) and other pertinent information regarding procedure. •Responds to emergency situations appropriately and calls for assistance as needed.  Provides post-catheterization information to patient and significant others. •Assists cardiologist during procedures in team role by supplying equipment and anticipating routine and special needs. •Assists in room clean-up after cases, and prepares room for next case. •Performs digital imaging techniques, maintains archival storage of digitized data. •Collects and enters correct information required for ACC Data Submission. •Demonstrates knowledge of all supplies (catheters, guide wires, etc.) and assists with tracking supplies used to aid in proper billing and inventory control. •Collaborates with other members of health team to determine and achieve healthcare goals. Demonstrates comprehension of cardiac pharmacology. •Attain working knowledge of the ability to trouble-shoot Cath Lab job-related equipment. •Remove arterial and venous sheaths and complete documentation.  Maintain current knowledge of closure devices presently in use and aid with their deployment and post-care. Additional info: •The position is located on the shores of Lake Erie in north central Ohio and voted "Best Coastal Small Town in America". •The position reports to the Director and work within a great team of caring, compassionate people. Requirements What they are looking for: •Current licensure in the State of Ohio as RCIS; RT(R, CV); prefer three years catheterization experience. •Attain and maintain current ACLS certification.  Attain and maintain current BLS certification. Benefits Hours and compensation potential: •Position is full time day shift 7:30am-4:00pm. Call is rotated every 3 weeks for evenings/weekends and requires a 30 minute response time. They offer call rooms if needed.  •Range starts at $29hr-$36.33hr based on experience. On call pay is $4/hour. If called in, receive 1.5x hourly rate(minimum pay if called in will be 1 hour of pay).  A full benefit package as well is included and a $20,000 retention bonus, payable in 3 installments at 6 months, 9 months, and 1 year. Based on a two year agreement.
