Job Description United is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will play a key part in the design and development of custom equipment and products that support our industry-leading pipeline liner systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to turn concepts into reality, taking projects from initial design through testing, implementation, and long-term maintenance. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply advanced mechanical engineering principles in a highly specialized field that spans oil, gas, mining, and water pipeline infrastructure. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on environment, is detail-oriented, and enjoys problem-solving in both field and office settings. Key Responsibilities Design and analyze custom mechanical systems, tools, and equipment for pipeline liner installations Develop and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation Conduct modeling, simulation, and testing (including FEA) to validate designs Collaborate with operations, field, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, safe, and cost-effective Support prototype builds and oversee implementation of new equipment in the field Troubleshoot and provide engineering support for existing equipment and products Manage projects, timelines, and deliverables while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards Stay current with industry standards, materials, and manufacturing processes to drive innovation Requirements Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with strong mechanical aptitude 3+ years of work experience in a mechanical engineering environment Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical principles, design processes, and systems Proficiency in 3-D CAD software such as SolidWorks, SolidEdge, or Inventor Ability to draft manufacturing drawings Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials Basic experience with computational and experimental analysis methods (FEA, etc.) Proficiency in MS Office software Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Ability to apply engineering principles to solve complex problems Good project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work effectively in both independent and team settings Some travel is required; possibly international Preferred skills and experience Familiarity with oilfield construction and equipment Familiarity with pipe and piping design Knowledge of hydraulic equipment and machine design Experience working with thermoplastic materials Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance. 401(k) with company match.
