The Elevator Pitch  This role is ideal for someone who thrives on applying accounting principles to ensure accuracy and consistency in revenue recognition. This is a great opportunity to strengthen your revenue accounting expertise, learn from experienced CPAs, and build a foundation that prepares you for more complex contract analysis and career growth.   Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?    In the first 30 days, you will:  Begin to grasp the order process flow, recognizing key items in orders and starting to understand when and how to address questions or concerns.  Apply meticulous attention to detail to ensure understanding and handling of orders are error-free and compliant.  Start to interact with team members and stakeholders, laying the groundwork for future collaboration and communication.  Within 3 to 6 months, you will:  Gain the ability to independently review and process standard, repeatable sales orders, and revenue contracts.  Have built relationships with stakeholders, enhancing teamwork and process efficiency.  Begin to comprehend key accounting pronouncements impacting revenue recognition at Evolv, integrating this knowledge into daily work.    By the end of the first year, you will:  Collaborate with the Sr. Revenue Accountant  to independently review sales orders, maintain revenue reporting accuracy, and ensure sales order approvals process efficiently, avoiding bottlenecks. (This should be a development goal to work towards throughout the first yr, The Sr. Rev Accountant should be teaching the Rev Accountant how to become proficient in this)  Consistently process routing contracts and maintain accurate revenue records with minimal supervision.  Update installation and fulfillment dates per revenue recognition rules  Investigate approaches to navigate the key systems, find relevant information efficiently and independently.  Partner with Sr. Revenue Accountant on ad hoc analysis and complex contract reviews to gain exposure and expand skill set. Utilize opportunities to incorporate accounting pronouncements impacting revenue recognition at Evolv, integrating this knowledge into daily work.    The Work: What you’ll do regularly Accounting Acumen:  Record and reconcile revenue accounts for standard contracts in accordance with US GAAP and ASC605 policies.  Identify and book monthly accruals  (Nice to have) Prior exposure to revenue recognition standards, especially ASC 606. Reporting Skills:  Support ad hoc revenue reporting requirements with accuracy and timeliness. Track and report on key metrics such as Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), Remaining Performance Obligations (RPO), and Deployed Units. Attention to Detail:  Review sales orders, bookings, and contracts, managing approvals in NetSuite and Salesforce. Ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards, including ASC 606 and ASC 842. Team Engagement:  Collaborate with Order Entry, Logistics, and the broader accounting team. Support general ledger management and month-end close activities. Serve as a primary contact for auditors conducting revenue testing of routine contracts. Assist Accounts Receivable in resolving invoicing issues. Personal Development:  Demonstrate eagerness to grow professionally, with opportunities to expand into accruals, sales program management, and cross-functional initiatives. What is the structure and culture of the team?  You will be joining the Accounting team and reporting directly to the Manager of Revenue Accounting. Compensation and Transparency Statement The base salary range for this full-time position is $58,000 - $92,000. In addition to base salary, this role offers a competitive target bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. This range reflects our commitment to pay transparency and equity, in alignment with applicable state laws. Our compensation ranges are determined based on factors such as role, level, location, market benchmarks, and internal equity. The posted range represents the good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role across U.S. locations.
