General Position Description The maintenance technician will perform a variety of tasks on a 25-acre residential property. The technician will handle basic tasks in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting. The team keeps the units, buildings, and equipment maintained and repaired; handles unit inspections; responds to after-hour maintenance calls; ensures that the department has the required materials and supplies in inventory; works cooperatively with contractors and vendors servicing the property; and assists with keeping the maintenance shop in good order. This role involves performing a variety of tasks on construction sites, including manual labor, operating tools and equipment, and ensuring the site is clean and safe. The Construction Crew Member will work collaboratively with the team to complete projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. General Labor: o Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, and moving materials and equipment. o Assist in the assembly and disassembly of temporary structures, scaffolding, and other site installations. o Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment. 2. Site Preparation and Cleanup: o Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up barriers, and ensuring the area is safe for work. o Maintain a clean and organized job site by removing waste, unused materials, and hazardous items. o Follow proper waste disposal procedures to comply with environmental and safety regulations. 3. Tool and Equipment Operation: o Operate hand tools, power tools, and light machinery under the guidance of the Foreman or experienced crew members. o Assist in the setup and operation of heavy machinery as needed. o Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. 4. Material Handling: o Transport materials to and from the jobsite as directed. o Assist in the accurate measurement, cutting, and preparation of materials for construction tasks. o Ensure materials are stored properly to prevent damage or loss. 5. Safety and Compliance: o Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. o Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. o Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near-misses to the Foreman immediately. 6. Team Collaboration: o Work cooperatively with other crew members, Foremen, and supervisors to complete tasks efficiently. o Follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations. o Assist other crew members as needed to meet project deadlines. 7. Quality Assurance: o Perform tasks with attention to detail to ensure work meets quality standards and project specifications. o Report any issues or defects in materials or workmanship to the Foreman. Qualifications: • Previous experience in construction or general labor is preferred but not required. • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions. • Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment. • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and follow instructions. • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment. • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
