Local Driver - Class B CDL (Sedalia)

Steel fabrication and installation company seeking a detailed, dedicated individual to make local deliveries of structural and miscellaneous steel. Looking for a CDL Class B driver. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a manual transmission. Driver will assist in loading and unloading materials, help track deliveries, and assist in maintaining inventories. Job will require working outside in a steel fabrication environment as deliveries will be made to various local job sites. Punctuality and reliability are necessary for success in this position. Regular hours are M-F 7am to 4pm. Please be aware that there are times where the shift changes to a 10 hour work shift. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: - Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions - Inspect loads and secure cargo for transport - Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting all loads - Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crews at the shop and on designated job sites - Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy - Check conditions of trucks and any trailers after use to ensure that there has been no damage - Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order - Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles JOB REQUIREMENTS: - Must have valid driver’s license (CDL Class B) - Minimum of 1 year Class B experience - No major moving violations in the last 2 years - Ability to work outside in Colorado’s ever-changing weather - Attention to detail – ability to maintain accurate record keeping - Ability to lift 50# consistently - Knowledgeable with securing all types of flatbed freight with chains, binders, and straps
