Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and reliable Vmix Operator to join our on-site and on-air production team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who is experienced in live video production, understands the cannabis movement, and can confidently manage technical workflows using VMix. We would love for you to be able to join the conversation on the show through the control room. You’ll be supporting live or pre-recorded shows twice a week, ensuring smooth broadcasts, transitions, overlays, sound, and visuals. Key Responsibilities: Operate Vmix software during live and pre-recorded productions. Set up and test audio/video inputs, camera feeds, and graphics before each session. Monitor and manage real-time switching between scenes, media, and sources. Ensure visual and audio quality meets production standards. Troubleshoot technical issues on the spot during live shows. Collaborate closely with the production team, hosts, and guests during sessions. Export and back up recorded content as needed after each session. Qualifications: Prior hands-on experience using Vmix for video production is required. Solid understanding of multi-camera setups, audio mixers, and streaming outputs. Strong technical problem-solving skills under time pressure. Experience with chroma keying. Punctual, dependable, and detail-oriented. Willing to work on-site in our studio. A general understanding of the cannabis industry. Must be available every Tuesday and Thursday. Preferred Skills (Bonus): Knowledge of other broadcast tools (OBS, Zoom, audio mixers). Basic post-production or video editing experience. Willingness to join the conversation through the control room. Be a member of the show. Familiarity with livestream platforms like YouTube, Facebook Live, Rumble, X, etc. Background in podcasts, web shows, or content creation is a plus. The ideal candidate is a storyteller with a strong visual sense and experience developing video content from concept to final cut. This role will report to the Social Media Strategist and Marketing and collaborate closely with the broader Communications and Marketing team to ensure that video content matches brand voice, supports organizational goals, and amplifies the voices of AANHPI communities. Key Responsibilities Content Creation & Production Conceptualize and pitch story-driven video ideas that align with TAAF’s mission, initiatives, and campaigns. Develop, shoot, edit, and produce original video content for digital campaigns, social media, and live or virtual events. Collaborate with the social media strategist to create ongoing content series focused on education, community, research studies, and initiatives. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine visual and narrative assets that support broader organizational goals. Transform raw event footage into polished, brand-aligned videos using motion graphics, music, and sound design, ensuring all content meets accessibility and inclusion standards. Digital Integration Optimize video content for platform-specific requirements across Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other digital channels, including formatting, captioning, and timing. Support the development of content calendars and cross-channel digital campaigns to enhance reach, engagement, and storytelling impact. Analyze content performance metrics (views, retention, engagement) and translate insights into actionable improvements in editing, storytelling, and distribution tactics. Stay current on emerging video trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve content strategy and production workflows. Requirements Education and Experience Undergraduate degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). 5-7 years of experience in video production, filmmaking, or multimedia storytelling. Demonstrated ability to manage the full video production lifecycle, including concept development, scripting, shooting, editing, and final delivery across diverse formats and audiences. A portfolio showcasing a variety of video styles (e.g., interviews, documentary-style, social-first content, explainer videos). Skills and Knowledge Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar editing and motion graphics tools. Experience with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lighting, and audio equipment for on-site and in-studio shoots. Strong understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, and composition. Knowledge of accessibility standards for video (captioning, contrast, screen reader compatibility, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
