The ideal candidate will have experience in the theory and/or implementation of optimization algorithms for gate-model quantum computers, or in classical optimization or constraint satisfaction algorithms; or otherwise strong evidence of potential to contribute to these areas. Their work will initially focus on these topics, though they will have the opportunity to grow a portfolio of research activity across the breadth of Phasecraft’s interests. A background in quantum computing is not necessarily required, though in this case a successful candidate will have evidence of the ability to design and implement advanced algorithms for optimization and/or constraint satisfaction. Job Description Undertake theoretical and/or applied research and/or software development for near-term quantum computing applications, with an initial focus on quantum algorithms and software for combinatorial optimization and/or constraint satisfaction problems. Help to author publications, presentations, patent applications and similar resulting from the research. Work collaboratively in a small team made up of full-time staff and affiliated PhD students. Work with stakeholders on collaborations applying quantum computing to optimization problems. Other activities as required to support the growth and success of Phasecraft. Requirements Essential criteria: Expertise in one or more of: o quantum information and/or computation theory o theory and implementation of classical algorithms for optimization or constraint satisfaction o quantum algorithm design and implementation o mathematical analysis of algorithms Proven track record of working independently on research projects. Deep expertise and an excellent publication track-record in relevant discipline. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to disseminate research results to technical and non-technical audiences. Flexibility to work across different aspects of quantum algorithms, and to work on other tasks required to support the growth and success of the company. An interest in near-term quantum computing Desirable criteria: PhD (or soon to receive one) in quantum information, quantum computation theory, theoretical computer science, or closely related field. Coding in quantum software development environments (e.g. Cirq, QuEST, Qiskit). Experience of implementing algorithms on quantum hardware. Strong publication track-record in relevant discipline. The ideal candidate will have experience in implementing quantum algorithms on real quantum hardware, in addition to expertise in the theory of quantum algorithms for gate-model quantum computers or related topics in quantum computing theory, quantum information theory, or related areas of quantum theory. Their work will contribute to Phasecraft’s goal of developing quantum algorithms for near-term quantum computers and may encompass topics such as algorithm optimization and design, quantum error-correction, resource analysis, error mitigation, and hardware benchmarking. The role will involve both theoretical research and practical implementation, leveraging access to quantum hardware platforms. Strong understanding of quantum circuit design, compilation, and optimization techniques. Ability to work independently on research projects while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Strong publication track record in relevant disciplines. Proficiency in quantum programming languages such as Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, or similar. Flexibility to work across different aspects of quantum software, algorithms, and underpinning theory. Desirable Criteria Experience in developing and benchmarking error mitigation techniques for quantum algorithms. Knowledge of classical simulation methods for quantum circuits and hybrid quantum-classical approaches. Strong software development skills, including experience with Python, C++, or other programming languages used in quantum computing. Our study for DIHYDROBERBERINE has been adjusted to allow for adults up to 65 years of age (previously 55)!! We have a new research study evaluating the effects of a dietary supplement on glucose and appetite response in adults. Recent clinical studies suggest berberine may impact appetite-regulating hormones like glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1); insulin sensitivity (how your body responds to the insulin in your blood); blood glucose levels and weight loss. Dihydroberberine (DHB), is a form of berberine that has the same characteristics as berberine but may be better absorbed by the body. The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the effect of a single dose of DHB and 6-weeks of DHB consumption versus placebo on various health outcomes. The total study participation is approximately 8 weeks with 4 in-clinic visits. Three of the visits require you to be at the clinic for a 3-hour period. During the study, you’ll wear a continuous glucose monitor (CGM). Using a CGM requires you to wear a small sensor with a very thin filament that stays under your skin and constantly reads your blood sugar levels. If qualified, you may be compensated up to $1,000 for completing all visits and study tasks.
