Market of Choice is now hiring full-time Cooks to join our Central Kitchen to join our professional, state of the art, modern production facility! This position starts at $16.10/hour up to $18.75/hour depending on experience with growth opportunity up to $19.75/hour. DESCRIPTION The Market Central Kitchen supplies all of our store locations with items made from scratch, including soups, salads, marinades, sauces, spice kits, charcuterie, and more! Applicants should be able to follow standard recipes and procedures, as well as safety food programs. DUTIES We are looking for a friendly team player to join our crew! This is a unique opportunity to be part of a tight-knit team atmosphere that is creative, fast-paced and fueled by our passion for quality and our commitment to exceptional food. As a Cook, you will report to the Production Manager and Operations Manager and some of your responsibilities will include: Consulting with the Production Manager on a daily basis to ensure that timing of orders and production schedules are coordinated Production of sandwich, salad, entree, catering trays and soup for the hot and cold cases at Market of Choice stores Timely delivery of assigned orders and other orders as needed Assisting the Chef/Catering Manager with ordering and maintaining inventory of fresh, frozen, and sundry products for use in the department Training new kitchen workers and assistants Prepare deep fried, baked, stove top foods, and salads Maintain positive relations with customers, vendors and employees Maintain Health and Safety sanitation requirements Have a current Food Handler Card QUALIFICATIONS Applicants should be available any shift including weekends. The ideal candidate will be at least 18 years of age and have the following: A minimum of 1 year food prep experience At least 1 year heavy food production experience A valid Oregon Drivers License (with a clean driving record) Market of Choice is an Oregon grown, local company with opportunities for growth. Is it possible to have a few IRL depression support friends who actually meet? Ive often felt like whats missing in my seeking help is the friend who also knows depression and the topic is not taboo, but always on the table as a possible subject to discuss. Well thats okay, but i still think it would help to have at least one person with whom we can be casual counselors for each other and vent these topics. If theres people in new orleans who have that some struggle and want to have a friendship where its okay to feel depressed and talk about it, give me a shout?
