Pioneer Design Group, PDG, has an immediate opening for a Surveying Technician to join our Company. This is an entry level position that will fill a need we have on a field survey crew. PDG is a team-oriented environment where collaboration is encouraged and supported. We are looking to add to our group with a responsible person that does not necessarily need to possess knowledge or expertise but has an interest in surveying. PDG provides services on a broad range of projects including residential subdivisions, commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments. PDG is a multi-disciplined firm specializing in civil engineering, surveying, planning, landscape architecture and development services. Duties and Responsibilities: • Work as technician on a survey field crew supporting a crew chief to complete assigned field work. • Ability to work efficiently within a team, and follow directions from crew chief. Responsibilities and Duties Conduct daily safety inspections of equipment, vehicles, and job sites Perform landscape maintenance duties such as pruning, planting, irrigation repairs, and mowing Assign daily tasks to Crew Members and oversee their work quality Communicate with Supervisors regarding crew performance, equipment issues, and job-related concerns Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs when necessary Apply chemicals and fertilizers properly and safely Interact with clients to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction Support career development of Crew Members through coaching and mentoring Manage site hours to maintain budget and control material usage Complete daily documentation including time tracking, work performed, and vehicle inspections Work with seasonal crews for snow and ice removal during winter months Maintain cleanliness of shop, yard, and truck/trailer spaces Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of landscape maintenance experience required Supervisory experience leading a team Knowledge of landscape maintenance, irrigation systems, and horticulture practices Ability to operate gas-powered equipment (mowers, blowers, hedgers, etc.) Proficiency with smartphones and work applications Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills Ability to lift up to 75 pounds daily Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record (preferred) Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred) Plant identification knowledge (preferred) Work Schedule and Environment This position is based at our headquarters in Southeast Portland Work schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week with possible overtime and weekend hours during peak seasons.
