This role is responsible for using advanced, non-machine-learning analytic techniques to investigate well-defined business questions, synthesize findings, and deliver actionable insights. The Senior Data Analyst will partner closely with management and stakeholders to clearly define problems, explore and analyze data, and present results in a way that drives business decisions and improves service reliability. This role requires 4 days per week in the Denver, CO office. Only candidates who are located in the Denver, CO area will be considered for this position. Requirements Partner with the management team to ensure business questions are clearly defined, scoped, and actionable. Leverage domain knowledge of the cable/telecom industry to quickly understand issues and data context. Develop an analytic approach in collaboration with management to address business needs. Identify and apply key attributes and metrics relevant to reliability analysis. Extract data from warehouses using SQL and prepare analyses in Excel or other BI tools. Build tables, pivot reports, and visualizations using reporting tools. Proactively identify and flag potential data quality issues or questionable assumptions. Apply foundational statistical and analytic techniques, such as correlations, statistical checks, and exploratory visualizations. Recognize limitations of observational data and apply methods to mitigate misinterpretation (e.g., correlation vs. causation, regression to the mean, confounding, selection bias). Ensure rigor in unit measurements, derived metrics, and interpretation of results. Translate analytic findings into a clear, compelling narrative supported by charts, figures, and tables. Develop professional, polished presentations in PowerPoint, emphasizing readability and clarity. Seek feedback from stakeholders and adapt insights for diverse audiences, with sensitivity to organizational dynamics. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in data analysis, with emphasis on reliability, operations, or telecom preferred. Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and BI/reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar). Strong foundation in statistics, with ability to apply appropriate analytic techniques. Excellent communication skills with proven ability to distill complex analyses into clear, actionable insights. Experience working in the cable/telecom industry is highly desirable. Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s preferred. Compensation Sand Cherry Associates based in Denver, CO is required by state law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. This is a long term consulting engagement, with an hourly range of $85-95 per hour on 1099 or adjusted commensurate salary on W2. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role. Fresh & Wild is an online specialty foods distributor serving professional chefs and home cooks. We’re located in northeast Portland, near the airport. We’re seeking a new member of our operations team to: * Fulfill orders for wild mushrooms, fresh truffles, specialty produce and hard to find pantry goods. * Repack food products into new containers. * Pick up produce from our suppliers, and deliver to Portland restaurant customers. During hot weather, drive packages to the PDX airport in our refrigerated cargo van. * Inspect, weigh and receive dry goods and produce. * Sort, trim and chop produce. We start at 8:00 am and go to 4:00 Monday – Thursday for much of the year. End time would be around 6 pm May through Sept, when you would be delivering packages directly to the PDX airport at the end of the day. 9:00 to 1:00 on Friday. The analyst will also work on tasks related to the implementation of new GAC’s with respect to the deferred population. In addition, the analyst will lead and implement key projects and be the functional expert on specific applications and processes. Requirements Role and Responsibilities · Define, develop, and implement Group Annuity Contract specific standard methodologies and procedures which align with benefit specifications and associated plan or client requirements and comply with new or existing federal and state regulatory laws. · Understand complex pension calculation concepts for plans with different benefit structures. · Properly administer contracts in accordance with the plan sponsor requirements, with a focus on the deferred population and executing benefit calculations. · Support administration system transformation and new cases including creating test plans, plan specifications, and administering calculation testing of existing and new cases. · Process and handle monthly payments, new payment set ups, death processing and monthly reconciliation of files. · Assist or handle complex cases. Provide appropriate paperwork for new payments including QDRO’s and benefit quoting. · Assist Transition team with onboarding of new pension risk transfer plans and validating data in servicing systems, including mapping of deferred data fields in onboarding files and testing of the integration between the administration system and the calculator. · Create sample calculations for confirmation with Plan Sponsors to create clear documentation of GAC interpretation of benefit calculations. · Implement process automation solutions to deliver system improvements. Validate systems and workflows to ensure all new processes are functioning correctly including conducting UAT for system modifications. Identify defects and define options for remediation. · Collaborate on project scope, issues, and options. Accurately plan and appropriately complete projects. Participate in accurate and complete testing of new system updates. · Identify, track and report issues in a timely manner. Promptly provide comments, feedback, and recommendations. · Deliver training to junior team members as needed. · Participate in delivering continuing training to other departments on benefit calculation topics as needed. · Develop and document procedure manuals for Retirement Support Services. · Complete all other tasks and projects. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. 3+ years of retirement plan administration experience, including in depth pension benefit calculation knowledge. Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills. Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Display history of building trust and developing team relationships. Exceptional oral and written communication skills as well as presentation skills; ability to deliver information in a concise manner. Advanced spreadsheet proficiency (Excel).
