The Custom Truck Builder is responsible for building, fabricating, repairing, and maintaining all types of Maintenance of Way (MOW) equipment, specializing in hi-rail trucks, cranes, and other equipment related to the railroad industry. Short Electric is looking for residential journeyman to join the team. We do new construction projects, custom remodel projects for various companies, home automation, and generator installs. A little back ground on Short Electric. We are small company that has various branches of the company that people can learn and expand your knowledge so the job never gets old. We are a licensed dealer and installer of Kohler generators. We install generators from 14 kw all the way to 150 kw. We do all of the setting, mounting, install the transfer switch in the electrical system, start-up, and service of the generators. We are a licensed dealer and install of Control 4 home automation systems. This includes lighting, sound, and security systems. Items and qualities that we are looking for in a journeyman to join the team. - Valid drivers license. - Must have a clean driving record. - Must have a valid journeyman license from the State of Nebraska and City of Omaha. Must be up to date before you start work. - Hand tools. We provide the cordless tools for the projects. - Able to read blueprints. - Able to navigate the NEC for the various projects. - Able to trouble shoot new and old electrical systems. - Able to work by yourself and able to work with others. - Able to run a project from ordering parts to laying out guys for day to day tasks. - Must have a good attitude at work. - Must be able to talk to clients and general contractors when asked about the projects. - Must have a working smart phone this is how time sheets are filled out. We have a year and half worth of work on under contract right now. Seeking a reliable individual that can show up on time daily, absolutely must have a valid drivers license and there own means of transportation. Having experience with driving a truck and trailer is a bonus as well. Can work independently, one that is a hard worker with a go get it done speed. This position requires good common sense, can see what needs done and do it. Must have experience with concrete work and be able to pull a screed or rod board. Also looking for someone that has experience finishing steps and stoop tops. Must be able to work in concrete and masonry. Also would be willing to hire a part time finisher.
