We are looking to fill positions for cooks, both prep and line cooks, at our new location. Dear Jane's is the sister restaurant to the iconic Culver City restaurant with a focus on seafood. We are looking for motivated culinary professionals capable of supporting a dynamic chef-driven restaurant in Los Angeles. • We are looking to hire Line Cooks immediately as well as a Jr. Sous Chef • LINE COOKS - Have a high sense of responsibility and passion to provide genuine hospitality - Must have availability to work 3-4 shifts per week. Weekend and Holidays are required. - Seeking experienced cooks - Need to be able to work in a fast paced, high intensity environment. - Also need to work well with others as a team-player, have a Food Handler's License, and a great work ethic. JUNIOR SOUS CHEF - Assist with the planning, preparation, and production of the menu according to recipe and presentation standards - Prepping assigned items associated with the correct station; ensuring freshness of ingredients; labeling prepped ingredients with the name of item, date and time prepped, and initials or preparer - Manage kitchen team members including but not limited to training, scheduling, and performance management - Occasionally assist with food purchasing duties including but not limited to ordering, storage, usage, rotation, and inventory - Minimize and control costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation; minimizing waste; ensuring high quality of preparation - Making periodic and regular inspections of the kitchen to observe the quality of food preparation, production, storage, food appearance, and cleanliness and sanitation of production and service areas, equipment and team member appearance - Creating a positive team atmosphere among team members that encourages accountability and achieves the highest standards of food, beverage, service, and hospitality - Ability to lead with commitment and passion Hiring Immediately -COMPETITIVE PAY --------------------------- Dear Jane's is looking for reliable, fast, enthusiastic individuals with excellent skills to join our team. This role involves preparing and blending teas according to recipes, ensuring consistent flavor and quality. Responsibilities include measuring ingredients, mixing teas, performing quality checks, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Responsibilities: • Measure and blend teas according to established recipes and standards. • Conduct quality checks to ensure consistency, flavor, and aroma meet company standards. • Record blend information and adjust processes based on findings. • Identify and report defective or substandard ingredients. • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety and sanitation procedures. • Assist with packaging and labeling as needed. • Follow all standard operating procedures for blending and production. • Collaborate with production team to meet daily production goals. • Report food safety or quality issues to the supervisor. Qualifications: • High School Diploma/GED preferred. • Fluent in English, both written and spoken • Experience in tea blending, food production, or a similar role is preferred. • Ability to understand and follow written instructions and recipes. • Strong attention to detail and quality. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Willingness to work any assigned shift, including second shift if needed. Physical Requirements: • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds. • Must be able to push and/or pull up to 50 pounds. • Must be able to continuously stand and/or walk for extended periods on concrete surfaces. • Ability to repeatedly kneel, bend, crouch, and/or stoop throughout the shift as needed.
