Position Overview: The Host at The Roxy Hotel Bar is the first to be in contact with our guests and therefore helps to create the first impression the guest has of our restaurant. It is important to genuinely greet each guest in a friendly and welcoming manner just as you would greet a friend or family member into your home. The same goes for when answering the phone, you are excited to meet and speak to our guests. More detailed responsibilities include seating guests at proper table, ensuring that they are comfortable where we have asked them sit. Updating Resy to accurately portray what is happening in the dining room. Interact with guests when they walk in the door, are waiting for a table or have called over the phone. A good host will do everything with a smile on their face and help to create a comfortable and welcoming environment in our restaurant. Flexible Schedule: Evening and Day Time Shifts needed! o Set up host stand with Resy; table management system. o Greet and escort hotel guests and patrons to their tables in the bar and lounge of the hotel. o Maintain an organized host stand and front of house. o Assist with side work and opening/closing tasks as needed. o Be aware of special events scheduled throughout the property and be able to direct guest appropriately. o Answer phones and questions regarding the bar and lounge hours, service, availability, and make reservations. o Answer In Room Dining Calls; notate appropriate information as far as guest room, orders and quote appropriate delivery time. Qualifications: o Minimum 2 years of restaurant experience o Friendly, engaging and outgoing o Professional, friendly demeanor o Ability to multi-task and handle high volume o Follow directions thoroughly o Understand guest’s service needs o Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team o Work with minimal supervision o Have the ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, carry multiple objects o Ability to stand/work on feet for long periods of time o Experience with Resy is a plus o TIPS/Alcohol Training certified is a plus Responsibilities include: o Perform job with attention to detail, speed and accuracy. o Prioritize and organize. o Follow directions thoroughly. o Understand guest’s service needs. o Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team. o Work with minimal supervision o Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data. Wipe down and reset tables with proper place settings (napkins, cutlery, glassware). Refill water glasses as needed. Assist in pre-bussing during service to keep tables uncluttered. Dining Room & Service Support Keep floors, chairs, and service areas clean and presentable. Carry food trays to and from kitchen when servers need support. Help servers by delivering bread, water, or condiments. Respond promptly when guests need extra napkins, cutlery, or high chairs. Back of House Support Bring dirty dishes and glassware to dishwashing area. Sort and organize dishes, utensils, and glassware properly for dishwashers. Restock service stations with napkins, utensils, water pitchers, and condiments. Teamwork & Hospitality Work closely with servers and hosts to ensure smooth service. Anticipate guest needs and act proactively (quietly and efficiently). Be attentive but not intrusive; move quickly and professionally. End of Shift Duties Reset dining room for next service (tables, chairs, floors, service stations). Restock supplies: napkins, utensils, condiments, water pitchers. Dispose of trash, recyclables, and linens in designated areas. Check with manager/server before leaving to ensure all duties are complete.
