IT Field Services Technician (All Chicagoland)

Locations: Greater Chicagoland Area, Northwest Indiana, Southeast Wisconsin What you’ll do: Perform on-site “smart hands” tasks: rack & stack, device swaps, AP & switch installs, demarc/circuit testing, site surveys. POTS Cutovers, Camera/Security Installs, VoIP Install, Workstation refreshes Structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6), labeling, testing, and documentation. Support POS/retail environments and conference room/AV setups. Close tickets with clear notes, photos, and customer sign-off. Must-haves: Clean background and legal authorization to work in the U.S. Valid driver’s license + insured, reliable vehicle Basic networking knowledge. Relevant hands-on field experience Your own tools (punchdown, crimper, toner/probe, labeler, drill/driver; ladder access) Smartphone for check-in/out, photos, working laptop. Nice-to-haves: Low-voltage familiarity CCTV & access control installs, POS, data center remote hands 1099 contract. Competitive hourly/per-ticket rates; nights/weekends/urgent calls pay more.
