Associate Dentist   POSITION SUMMARY The Associate Dentist (AD) is responsible for administering, maintaining, and expanding a program of primary (and in selected cases, secondary) care and preventive dental care in a group practice setting. ADs play a leadership role in the office and are expected to partner with Office Managers to drive positive culture and performance. The AD reports to the Chief Dental Officer. JOB DUTIES/EXPECTATIONS Consistently model the core values and code of conduct of Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry Provide hands-on patient care as scheduled each week Reviews and follows all dental office protocols, policies, and procedures including use of lab and supply formulary Perform quality clinical and radiographic evaluations to diagnose and treat diseases of the oral cavity Promote oral health by providing educational information on all phases of preventive and restorative dentistry and oral hygiene Document and follow treatment plans that include appropriate preventive and restorative therapy Manage medical/dental history with a comprehensive evaluation of the patient's general health Address all contraindications pertaining to treatment and identify patient's chief complaint or reason for visit Ensures necessary diagnosis and coding is properly documented Ensure compliance with OSHA and dental board procedures Guide professional staff to consistently deliver services that are at or above dentistry standards of care Participate in assessments/interviews of applicant hygienists and dental assistants, and provide feedback to Operations, HR and Clinical leaders Assist in the training of new hygienists and dental assistants Provide input to OM for annual performance reviews of all office team members Consistently attend and participate in daily huddle As requested, assist the OM with clinically-related patient concerns, by reviewing charts and contacting patients as needed Escalate significant patient concerns via the Risk Management tracking platform As requested, assist Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) as needed with insurance denial appeals, credentialing, coding, or other billing issues identified in the office QUALIFICATIONS To successfully perform the job responsibilities for the position, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required but are not necessarily all inclusive.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential requirements. Individual’s ages range from 18-65 and their needs vary from high functioning, fairly independent Individuals to those who have total physical care needs or behavior support needs. Most Individuals participate in a school or day program during the day, although Family Home Providers are still responsible for being available during the day if needed. You will receive support from Enriching Lives to assist you in providing services in your own home such as initial and continuing education, the support of a multidisciplinary team, 24 hour on call professional support, and overnight relief support. Enriching Lives staff will visit you and the Individual regularly to provide support and ensure that the Individual’s goals are being met. At a minimum, you must have 1-2 spare bedrooms, a safe and pleasant living environment, reliable transportation, a high school diploma or GED and a designated backup Family Home Provider. All adult members of the household and frequent visitors to the home must have a clear criminal history and a DMV record without any major violations. Enriching Lives is highly committed to making successful matches and placements in the home of people who become Family Home Providers with our agency. Thank you for your interest in taking care of my sweet 95-year-old mother! Here is a bit of a description of her: She is sweet and lovely to be around. But unfortunately, she is quite demented, and mostly deaf. She is not talking so much anymore, but she smiles when she is happy. She has a very fragile body, and her mobility is getting less and less as each month passes. She is still walking with a walker, but barely, yet if she stays in the wheelchair all day, she will become weaker and weaker. She is a huge fall risk, and if indeed she does fall, it could very easily be the end of life for her. We do not have a Hoyer lift in the house, because there is not enough room for one. She is mostly incontinent but also is able to use the toilet. She mostly needs to be fed but occasionally is able to eat by herself. She is mostly dependent on adults to do most things for her. Here is what we are looking for. I know all of you who are reading this are caring individuals, but because of my mother’s extreme fragility, I can only consider people with the following qualifications: 1. You absolutely MUST have a good deal of experience working with very old fragile women. 2. You absolutely MUST have a good deal of experience working with transfers from bed/walker/ toilet/lift/ wheelchair. 3. You absolutely MUST have experience and strength in doing body lifts, in moments when my mother has forgotten how to stand and/or gets frightened by this. 4.You absolutely MUST have experience in changing clients in bed, because more and more she is needing this when she is not able to walk. 5. This might sound ageist, but please do not apply if you are older (ie over 65) and your body is rather vulnerable. And please don’t apply if you are very young and you cannot connect with the pace of an older person. 6. You absolutely MUST have experience in toileting, and also making sure my mother doesn’t fall while you are cleaning her up as she stands over the toilet. (See note above.) 7. Please have experience in cooking meals and in slowly feeding an elderly person who might choke if you feed her too fast. 8. Please be extremely responsible and come on time to shifts. 9. Please be in good health and fit. We expect that caregivers will not bring contagious viruses into the home. When my mother gets a cold/flu or any other viruses, it takes her 6-8 weeks to get over it, because her COPD flares up, and she often has to go to the hospital and/or deal with serious health ramifications. 10. Please be kind and gentle and relate well to my mother. The job position is part-time, and is on an as needed basis, providing substitution for our existing caregivers when they are away. The average work time per week could be from 5- 20 hours a week, depending on the need. Our existing shifts are from 9am to 2pm, 2pm to 7pm, though mostly we need someone for the 9am to 2pm shift. Possibly this position might turn into a regular shift. We pay $30 an hour.
