We have a room opening up in our spacious, conveniently located Oakland house available October 12th! Looking for a long-term person to join the month-to-month contract with our property manager. There are 3 roommates here, but the house is very large so it's not uncommon to feel like the only person around. It's a 5 bedroom and we went down to 4 roommates to keep things mellower. Costs: - Security deposit is $2,125 - Rent is $1,583 - Utilities are about $150/month and we pay water, PG&E, Internet, and have a cleaning service come once a month for shared spaces. Location: - One block from Lake Merritt - A 7 minute walk to weekly farmer's market and Grand Lake Theater - 20 minute walk to Bart and downtown Oakland (also the 12 and NL are close by) - Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are half a mile away The Room: - Your unfurnished room is a large rectangular room toward the back of our house. It's the sunniest room in the house! The room has 4 windows, a long walk-in closet the length of the room, and a door to the shared bathroom. The room has hardwood floors and high ceilings. The House: - 2.5 bathrooms (1 is a master bath so 3 share the other 1.5) - Two living rooms - Wood floors throughout - Well sized kitchen with two fridges and two kitchen islands - 1 extra bedroom we aren't doing much with yet (potential to rent it out as an office, let's discuss!) - Epic sunroom - Porch - Small garden in back and flower bed/space in front if you have a green thumb - Three gorgeous redwood trees in the back - Basement /attic - Washer/Dryer in basement - The vast majority of the time and general ambiance of the home is very peaceful and relaxed - Not ADA accessible - Longterm preferred - No pets pls Roomies: We are a group of late 20-30 somethings with all different backgrounds, jobs, interests, with some that overlap. Occasionally we'll share food and chill! Occasionally one of us will have some people over. A couple of us moved in last year and one of us has lived in the house for ~9 years. We can go days without seeing each other, or overlap and chat in the kitchen a couple times a day, or offer each other food/popcorn at night...but mostly we are on our own schedules and have space to live, which is important to us in this incredible house.
