Guardian has an immediate need for a Maintenance Lead/Supervisor to join our experienced and committed team at Julia West! Julia West House is an affordable (LIHTC), high-rise, new construction, and lease-up apartment community with 90 units located in Portland, OR. For this position, we are seeking a self-starter who enjoys leading/supervising others and excels in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, professional and communicative; and have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in multifamily property maintenance, building maintenance, or similar experience plus specific knowledge of building systems and the ability to work independently. A Maintenance Lead's primary role is to manage site maintenance and other maintenance and housekeeping staff, and to support the Community Manager by ensuring site safety and completion of required property maintenance necessary to maintain excellent curb appeal and the overall appearance and quality of the property. This will include prioritizing and processing work orders which may include both urgent and routine maintenance of property and apartment units. This position is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance work is done in compliance with OSHA regulations, and Guardian policies and procedures. A Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible for coordinating with other property staff and vendors to provide outstanding customer service to the residents, provide well-timed and proactive property maintenance, safeguard the good financial health and stability of the property, and complete all required paperwork and reports on time. Most clients are on a repetitive schedule allowing them to get to know you and become more comfortable with the services. This role will require working our pop up events. We currently have a 3hr pop-up every Saturday from 12-3pm. Additionally, we try and attend any and all pet centered events around Ventura & Los Angeles County. The pop ups are a great way to gain new clients by providing information about our services as well as providing services on-site during these events. We are looking to fill three shifts a week with hours ranging from 16-20hrs per week. The working hours are: Friday (10am-6pm) and Saturday (8am-4pm). As the company grows, so will the opportunity for more hours.   What we are looking for:   Our ideal candidate loves animals and is confident reading their body language to understand their needs and discomforts. Responsibilities: Maintain all work equipment in good standing and utilize company magnets when working. Drive to the client's home & perform nail trim services (appointments are typically less than 15-20 minutes from arrival to payment.) Uphold safety standards and follow procedures for nail trimmings. Provide excellent customer service & ensure the well-being of clients during nail trims. Accept payment for services provided and reschedule/confirm next routine appointment Assure all tools are charging and prepared for the next shift. Qualifications: Valid driver's license with a clean record (no driving tickets or accidents in the last 3 years). Reliable mode of transportation to get to and from appointments daily. Previous experience working with animals, preferably as a vet tech, dog groomer, or similar role - Must already know how to trim and grind nails. Must be able to be on the ground with larger dogs, bend to accommodate smaller dogs, have the ability to lift 40lbs, and walk from car to house/apartment repeatedly throughout the day, including the ability to climb stairs daily. Comfortable using technology & the ability to learn our booking software. Benefits: First two weeks of training are paid at $16.50/hr. After completing training, pay raises to $19-$21/hr (based on experience) + tips. Tips are not guaranteed, but we’ve seen them range from $5 - $20/hr.
