Position Summary This role will serve as the primary connection between clients, case management staff, service providers, and landlords/property managers. The Housing Coordinator will ensure client well-being and unit habitability by conducting weekly, monthly, and quarterly unit visits at the clients’ residence. This position is responsible for implementing a program that advocates for individuals to obtain community-based housing options with the appropriate service supports to succeed. The Housing Coordinator will be responsible for managing a caseload of 35-45 individuals with frequent and regular travel to client residences, affiliate businesses, community meetings, training workshops, and other events in the San Mateo County. Position Responsibilities Assist program participants, case managers, and property providers in navigating the public housing agencies, if applicable. Coordinate program participants' move-ins into scattered-site units, project-based units, and/or enriched residential facilities. Liaise between program participants and case management services. Movement Labs is looking for local community leaders to serve as Neighborhood Captains in select areas for an organizing program ahead of the Virginia general elections. This program aims to reach disengaged voters in low-turnout areas by prioritizing one-on-one outreach and longer-term engagement from local neighborhood leaders. In working to re-engage voters, this program also aims to provide opportunities for voters to connect, and better assess voter needs. Outreach will be focused in the Richmond and Norfolk Metropolitan areas with folks that did not vote in the 2024 election, or who do not plan to vote this year.  Each Neighborhood Captain will focus on building longer-term relationships with voters in areas of the city that they are familiar with organizing in. Responsibilities include: Developing relationships with ~300 voters who didn’t vote in 2024, prioritizing in-person and one-on-one outreach; Conducting door-to-door canvassing as a primary means to engage target voters; Using phone-banking and peer-to-peer texting to support efforts Organizing, or supporting coordination of community events to provide opportunities for local voters to get engaged in their area; Tracking voter event engagement  Identifying voter needs and priorities in conversations with voters; identifying potential resources or connections to help meet identified needs Engaging and managing small groups of volunteers to support local voter engagement Support recruitment of participants for community listening sessions  Requirements Above all, we are looking for people that care deeply about supporting their communities and enjoy connecting with their neighbors.  Neighborhood Captain will work to organize their communities using their strengths, and help build out areas they’re interested in learning more about.  Movement Labs will provide neighborhood captains with a mobilization toolkit with language, outreach template, and instructions for outreach.
