As a Scale House Operator, you will be a key member in maintaining the day-to-day operations and administrative duties associated with operations of the scale(s) and office assistant functions. Below is a summary of the duties a Packer will be expected to perform 1-8: 1. Using slicing machines as requested by Supervisor or Manager, to slice bread, rolls, buns, etc. Supervisor or lead Packer will train Packer how to operate equipment. Packer must adhere to strict safety rules when operating equipment. 2. Put baked and cooled bread in appropriate bags as dictated by work order and instructed by Supervisor or Manager. 3. Twist bag using twist-tying machine to secure breads in bag. Supervisor or Manager will train how to operate equipment. Packer must adhere to strict safety rules when operating equipment. 4. Adhere labels to packages (as instructed) and/or hand-write labels for bread racks. 5. Load bagged/secured/labeled bread in crates as demonstrated by Supervisor or Manager for Shipping Dept. Packers may be asked to carry crates full of bread to picking area. Safety rules in lifting, bending, carrying, etc. must be strictly followed in order to prevent injury. 6. Cleaning up the Packing area is mandatory after each shift. Side work must be completed by each Packer – leaving their station clean and sanitized. 7. Physical Requirements: standing for long periods of time, ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs, bending, kneeling, etc. 8. Must be available to work Sunday through Thursday 4pm to 12a No Exceptions Hair restraints and Gloves must be worn at all times. All safety regulations must be followed in accordance to OSHA standards and the Wild Wheat Handbook. Packers must take breaks as directed by Manager.
