Looking for someone with welding / fabrication skills, mechanic skills and with a vast array of general labor skills. Willing to learn and train is fine. Equipment operator skills are a plus. We offer all regular benefits, time off, etc and are looking to fill 1 full time position. Pay is based on skill level. Position Summary: Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools by performing the following duties. Responsibilities: • Study specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts. • Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations. • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, and grinder, to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications. • Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances. • Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part. • Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of product. • Must help the team maintain a clean and organized environment. • Work with Maintenance Dept to reproduce machine parts for timely repairs. Skills & Abilities • Understands Controls and Instrumentation, Manufacturing Experience, Mechanical Inspection • Proficient with a variety of machine tools, including, lathes, mills, grinders, etc. • Proficient with the use of both metric and standard measurement systems. • Proficient in the use of precision gauging. • Experience with single hit and progressive dies • Experience working with progressive dies (tight tolerances) in a precision metal forming/stamping plant. • Experience trouble shooting progressive die production issues. • Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Education & Experience • A minimum 15-20 years’ experience . POSITION SUMMARY: Hardware assembly with hand tools into parts across one or more production areas ensuring required standards of quality are met DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: • Demonstrate good hand and eye coordination with the ability to use both hands in installing small hardware pieces (screws/rivets) and insulation. • Optimize daily production and on-time delivery performance • Notifies Supervisor of problems which affect the production/quality of parts • Completes all assignments in a timely manner and procedures are followed. • Responsible for quality and quantity of products. • Works with limited or no supervision • Must have knowledge of material speeds and feeds, fixturing and tooling.
