Oak Tree Capital is actively looking for Loan Consultants to work nationally. The Loan Consultant will be responsible for soliciting and originating commercial and private / hard money loan requests from borrowers and other sources including referrals from real estate agents, financial planners, attorneys and other centers of influence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Self-sources leads and creates profitable business relationships with referral partners. • Solicits, and originates residential loan requests from borrowers and other sources including referrals from real estate agents, financial planners, attorneys, and other centers of influence. • Advises borrowers of advantages of disadvantages of different financial products, marketing, servicing or promoting the Oak Tree Capital’s products. • Collects and analyzes information regarding borrowers’ income, assets, investments, or debts to determine which financial products best meet the borrowers’ needs and financial circumstances and determines if buyer, property, and loan conditions meet credit union and governmental standards. Prepare file for submission to underwriting for decisioning. • Sells the Oak Tree Capital’s mortgage lending programs to companies and individuals within the real estate community. • Keeps informed of current trends in mortgage lending and market factors affecting mortgage lending. Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Minimum Qualifications: • One to three years external/outside retail sales experience with an emphasis on self-sourced business. • Excellent customer service skills with the availability to assist members on evenings and weekends. • Sound knowledge and experience with first and second mortgage residential real estate lending. • Must be proficient in PC skills. • License may or may not be required based on your states requirements.
