1992 Volvo 740 Turbo Wagon! - $3,500 (Rancho Cordova)

Scammers please waste your time elsewhere. I'm not running any VIN checks or selling to anyone who can't look me in the eye and hand me US currency in person. PLEASE read the whole ad before contacting me. Up for sale is my awesome Turbo Wagon. I really want this car to go to a fellow RWD Volvo enthusiast who will keep it on the road until the heat death of the universe. It has a clean title in my name, and just passed smog with certificate. It has 209k miles and runs great. It has been my daily driver for almost 2 years. Reason for sale is I just bought a dually truck and my space is limited. I would keep this car forever if I could. This is the perfect Do-everything car. I even added a tow hitch, which I used to tow a small sailboat! It has more space in the back than a modern pickup with the seats down, and with the third row it has 8 seatbelts! MECHANICAL: Engine runs great, shown by the ridiculously clean smog numbers. No warning lights of any kind on the dash. Fresh oil change about 500 miles ago with Valvoline full synthetic. Water pump, timing belt, and turbo were replaced by previous owner at 188k. Automatic AW71 transmission shifts as it should with overdrive and all low gears functioning. Fresh NGK plugs, NGK wires done last plug change. BRAND NEW, not used, CA compliant catalytic converter and full new stainless exhaust from the turbo all the way back. ($1300+ with receipt and warranty on the cat) I have 4 Brand new Goodyear tires that come with the car. I will likely have them installed in the next few days. All power windows, sunroof, and mirrors still work 32 years later! Radio and aux with working speakers. The heater and defrost work great. The A/C works, but does not keep up during 100 degree days. The front end needs a bit of work. There is a steering wheel shimmy while driving. I have replaced the tension rod bushings and tie rods. It needs front shocks and shock mounts, and sway bar bushings to finish correcting the issue. The good news is parts are dirt cheap for these cars (Bilstein shocks only $79), and it is dead easy to work on. If you know your way around a car, which you should if you are shopping for a 32 year old Volvo, I will be happy to crawl under with you and show you exactly what needs to be done. COSMETIC: The car has all 4 center caps, I forgot to re-install the front 2 before taking pics. The body is straight and free from any large dents. It does have some dings of course. The clear coat is gone on top and failing on the passenger side. It has some cool patina on the roof, but no rust anywhere on the body or undercarriage. I personally spent several days refinishing the bumpers and door trim, which is why they look ten times better than any similarly aged Volvo you will see on the street. If you know these cars, you know what I mean. They always look terrible. These bumpers look damn good now. The interior is in great shape for the age, with the exception of the driver's seat, but the covers fit well and look good. The dashboard is in great shape with only one small crack. The rare, rear facing third row is in excellent condition. Overall, this is a fairly rare and definitely unique ride in today's sea of endless silver and grey crossovers. It needs a little love to be a perfect daily, but if it was perfect, it would be listed on Bring A Trailer for $10K lol. I am asking $3500 OBO. Possible trades for cabover camper for longbed.
