This isn't your average Vanagon. It's a larger, heavier-duty European import from Switzerland, quite rare in the US I've only heard of a handful. It was originally brought to North America for a road trip before being donated to charity, and it comes with a California Title and Plate. As a VW Diesel mechanic and enthusiast (with expertise in 1.6 IDI to TDI, MK1, MK2, MK3, MK4 platforms), I performed a major overhaul, including: * Rebuilt Non-Turbo D24 2.4L 6-cyl diesel engine * Upgraded MLS head gasket * New Sachs clutch and flywheel * All seals, bearings, and rings replaced * E-brake cables, and front and rear brakes replaced **More Details** The D24 engine was designed for the VW LT series but was also used in military equipment and Volvo 200 and 700 series, which were sold in the US. There were also turbo versions of the D24 (known as D24T or D24TIC) in some applications, including later Volvos. This isn't a Westfalia; it's a factory high-top with an aftermarket Swiss conversion. Originally orange, then white, it's now green. I've used it to travel extensively, venturing to Montana and Washington and putting 40k-50k miles on it. The odometer is in kilometers and has rolled once. I have a bunch of original parts included. **Driving** Just like a 1.6D Vanagon, no speeding tickets in this van! It will do 55 and has low gearing to provide acceleration and easy take-off. It pulls! I pulled a loaded 4500lb tool trailer when traveling for work. It gets 14-15 MPG and can show you one of my logbooks. Talk to me, I'm open. I'm starting at 6.5k obo. MORE MORE MORE!! I am moving need to thin the herd... I also have a MK3 Jetta TDI, and a couple MK1 Rabbit and Pickup IDI/TDI projects with brand new MK1 GTI parts (dash, spoiler, flairs, snowflakes, seats, console...) projects to sell. My 1990 NA hardtop Miata MX5 (MX-5) with rebuilt 1.8, NB Head, MP62 Superchager and Intercooler (setup for turbo too), MS2 Megasquirt, coilovers, fm butterfly, racing beat... My single owner 1996 F150 4.9L, 6-Cyl, 5-speed, 4WD, 145K mi, with camper shell and push bumper I also have a small craftsman toolbox and hand tools, full sockets set, end wrenches, screw drivers, hammers, pliers.... Terry Labonte #44 nascar stock car tire, craftsman cordless drills, dremel, car battery chargers, makita cordless impact and drill... if you need some tools...
