Fantastic Gardens Hawaii is looking for 1or 2 people to work on our farm/estate doing our landscape work and help harvesting some fruit. There is also a plant nursery with a collection of bromeliads and Aroids. This could be a full or part-time position. The major responsibilities will be weeding, mowing, weed whacking with a string trimmer, hedging our vetiver grass and some other shrubs, seed removal from our areca palms, picking up palm fronds, some irrigation and nursery work. We are in a wonderful location in the back of Waimanalo. If you like outdoor work are familiar with landscapes and landscape tools like mowers etc. and like to work in a beautiful place, this could be for you. Experience with basic landscape tools is required, plnat nurser experience would be a plus. Pay is 20-25/hour. with health care, paid holidays, paid vacation, and fresh pesticide free fruit. Position Overview: The Construction Crew Member will assist in the execution of construction projects under the supervision of the Foreman and other project leaders. This role involves performing a variety of tasks on construction sites, including manual labor, operating tools and equipment, and ensuring the site is clean and safe. The Construction Crew Member will work collaboratively with the team to complete projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. General Labor: o Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, and moving materials and equipment. o Assist in the assembly and disassembly of temporary structures, scaffolding, and other site installations. o Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment. 2. Site Preparation and Cleanup: o Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up barriers, and ensuring the area is safe for work. o Maintain a clean and organized job site by removing waste, unused materials, and hazardous items. o Follow proper waste disposal procedures to comply with environmental and safety regulations. 3. Tool and Equipment Operation: o Operate hand tools, power tools, and light machinery under the guidance of the Foreman or experienced crew members. o Assist in the setup and operation of heavy machinery as needed. o Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. 4. Material Handling: o Transport materials to and from the jobsite as directed. o Assist in the accurate measurement, cutting, and preparation of materials for construction tasks. o Ensure materials are stored properly to prevent damage or loss. 5. Safety and Compliance: o Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. o Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. o Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near-misses to the Foreman immediately. 6. Team Collaboration: o Work cooperatively with other crew members, Foremen, and supervisors to complete tasks efficiently. o Follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations. o Assist other crew members as needed to meet project deadlines. 7. Quality Assurance: o Perform tasks with attention to detail to ensure work meets quality standards and project specifications. o Report any issues or defects in materials or workmanship to the Foreman. Qualifications: • Previous experience in construction or general labor is preferred but not required. • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions. • Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment. • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and follow instructions. • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment. • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols. Work Schedule: • Standard Hours: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (40 hours per week). • Overtime: May be required based on project needs and must be preapproved by the Foreman or supervisor.
