Busy full service mechanic shop in Hastings On Hudson looking for an experienced A level mechanic. Candidate must be able to complete common repairs and tasks without assistance using their own tools. Responsibilities include general service and repair, brake & suspension work & diagnostics, electrical, computer & check engine light diagnostics, engine work & diagnostics on a wide range of makes and models. Must have own tool box and full set of tools. Knowledge of scan tool diagnostics and reading wiring diagrams are required. Must have drivers license. Communication, basic math, attention to detail, and reliability are all required skills. Candidate must be willing to learn and provide customer satisfaction. Hours are 8 AM to 5 PM Monday - Friday. Paid vacation days after 6 months of employment, closed on all major holidays. Pay: $25-$35 an hour (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE). Work environment provides room to grow. Candidate will be replacing employee that is retiring after working here for 40+ years. Experience: Automotive repair: 3 years minimum, 5 preferred. ASE certifications and NY inspectors license are pluses. As stated before this is not a beginners position and must be qualified as a top level mechanic.
