If you are new to our world, here is a breakdown of the ABLE Day Program: Working hours are Tuesday- Friday, 7:30am-5ish. That’s right! No Mondays, no nights, no holidays, no weekends. Our Director creates a monthly calendar full of exciting, educational, and recreational outings. Clients choose what they would like to do, and Direct Support Professionals take them to do it. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are the driving force of our day program. DSPs drive ABLE vehicles to and from client’s homes and to outings. Outings include bowling, museums, yoga, libraries, dining at restaurants, crafting, and so much more! DSPs help clients navigate outings by assisting with social norms, money management, social skills, and help them to engage in activities. We are always looking for new places to explore and new skills to learn! The clients we service: Our clients include adults with Down Syndrome, Autism, CP, Seizure d/o etc. and they will fill your day with laughter! Our client’s range in age from 18-82. ABLE Day Program is a safe space for them to be themselves while providing opportunities to learn and grow. DSPs play an important role in helping clients feel accepted and thrive out in the community. Our DSPs are a fun, inclusive, and supportive group of people coming from all walks of life and various industries. No experience needed. We provide training! The part that’s not all fun & games… DSPs are responsible for supporting clients that need assistance with daily living activities such as eating and using the restroom. We provide all training on how to assist clients in these areas. Q-mapped DSPs give medication, provide first aid, administer G-tube feedings, and document according to ABLE’s policies and procedures. All DSPs are given the opportunity to get Q-mapped and grow professionally. ABLE also provides opportunities for growth within the company. We want to grow and keep our talented team! Project Summary: SCOPE OF WORK: Mowing and Edging During the growing season (March thru November) the grass will be mowed, edged and blown clean weekly per attached calendar and color-coded map. All grass clippings and green waste will be removed on-going and placed in the Center’s 40 yard dumpster. During the slow growing season (November thru February) the grass areas throughout the Center will be mowed as needed. As the grass stops growing this time of year the contractor will spend more time pruning trees, shrubs, and removing leaves and yard debris. Weeds in all common areas and flower beds will be weed eaten weekly and debris removed. The order of mowing, edging, blowing, and pruning will start at Meadowview Rd. and progress south to the fence at Heavy Equipment. Area’s 1 and 2 are higher priority and will need to be maintained on a weekly schedule. The areas walkways, courtyards, outdoor, and common areas must be blown clear of debris. Area’s 3 and 4 are lower priority and will be maintained on a quarterly basis (every 3 month’s). Trees will be pruned around buildings 932, 933, 934, 935, 700, 710, 720, 500, 600, 200, an in front of center management on a regular schedule, 3 times per year (spring, midsummer, and Fall). This pruning will trim branches away buildings, remove any dead or low hanging branches, and disposing of the debris in the center’s 40 yard dumpster. Description: We are looking for a reliable gardener to provide consistent care and attention to the plants at our property in Elk Grove, CA. This includes both our existing landscaping and the development of a small educational farm project. The role focuses on plant health, growth, and upkeep — ensuring everything thrives on a daily and seasonal basis. Responsibilities: • Watering, pruning, weeding, and overall plant care. • Monitoring soil, irrigation, and plant health. • Identifying and addressing pests, diseases, or growth issues. • Assisting with planting, transplanting, and seasonal rotations. • Keeping garden and farm areas organized and presentable. What We’re Looking For: • Proven gardening or farming experience (green thumb a must). • Knowledge of local plants, vegetables, fruits, and herbs. • Reliable, consistent, and detail-oriented. • Comfortable working outdoors and physically active. • Must be able to do heavy lifting (rocks, dirt, and farm supplies). • Bonus: experience with small-scale farm or urban agriculture. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: dragging brush to the chipper, assisting the tree climber, using ropes, various hand and power tools, and cleaning the job site.
