HALI provides a peer-run, recovery-oriented approach for people who have experienced significant mental health or co-occurring life challenges. They support the Maintenance team in providing overall facilities management for HALI's Recovery Center in Central Islip, as well as multiple Supported Housing scattered sites throughout Long Island (primarily Suffolk County). Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities Perform regular inspections of systems and facilities to identify potential issues before they become major problems. Assist with diagnosing mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues as they arise and escalate issues to supervisor as needed. Perform repairs throughout HALI facilities ensuring optimal functioning. Address and resolve urgent repair issues promptly. Conduct regular inspections of HALI facilities and Supported Housing scatter sites to identify maintenance needs, safety issues, or potential hazards. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, such as repairs and inspections, including dates, parts used, and work performed. Document and report potential safety hazards and adhere to safety procedures and guidelines. Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and parts, including ordering replacements as needed. Perform general upkeep tasks such as cleaning, painting, and landscaping to maintain the facility's appearance and functionality. Oversee the operation of building systems, such as plumbing, and electrical, ensuring they operate efficiently. Additional tasks/duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility: None Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems and building codes and standards. Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures and best practices as well as safety standards and protocols. Ability to perform repairs, installations, and light constructions/home repairs. Skill in communicating effectively and interacting positively with other team members, departments, management, and tenants/participants. Skill in maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory. Ability to adapt to changing conditions and new challenges, including working with different types of systems and equipment. Willingness to stay updated with new technologies, techniques, and industry trends through training and professional development. Education, Experience, Licenses and/or Certifications Required: At least one year of maintenance experience is required, preferably with experience in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing Experience with basic maintenance/grounds keeping Valid NYS driver’s license Travel Requirements: Frequent local travel may be required. A HALI vehicle will be used as appropriate.
