Your Role at a Glance Turner Exhibits Production Team specializes in the design, fabrication, and installation of custom kinetic architecture features and permanent exhibits for corporate, non-profit, and private clients across commercial and residential sites throughout North America and internationally. This position is a key member of the Production Team, classified as full-time, hourly, and reports directly to the Production Manager. In your new role, you will: Read and interpret design and technical shop drawings. Select the appropriate tool(s) and process(es) from a variety of electrical and manual equipment to complete fabrication tasks. Cut and layout parts to achieve quality results that meet design and performance criteria. Produce machine parts to tight tolerances Produce appearance-grade, accurate, and structurally sound welds. Work in a professional manner and maintain equipment properly to ensure the safety of yourself and others. Collaborate with others in the Production, Design, and Project Management teams to successfully deliver complex projects from planning to completion. Seek out and utilize the expertise of your peers and management. Be an asset to the team, sharing your own expertise and experiences. What you will need to succeed: Be able to read and interpret technical drawings. Have basic tool skills (i.e. angle grinder, orbital, bandsaw, etc.). Have forklift operation experience. Have prior fabrication/layout building experience. GTAW experience required and FCAW/GMAW experience preferred. Interest in developing machining skills (manual mill & lathe work) Work safely, accurately, and efficiently to achieve high levels of quality. Contribute productively in a team environment. Have the capability and desire to communicate effectively with a diverse set of individuals within and outside of Turner Exhibits. Enjoy learning new skills and desire to continuously improve. Be willing to travel. Utilizes equipment, such as cut off saws, deburring tools, tube trimmers, hand grinders and vise, to shape and size tubing and sheet metal assemblies. Tubing and sheet metal assemblies to be sized using an assembly fixture or jig. Including, but not limited to the following: • Reading and/or following instructions required to perform job correctly • Take notes and refer to them in the future to complete the job • Inspect parts to assure they are not damaged or not being damaged during processing • Keep tools, fixtures and work areas clean and organized • Sweeping, cleaning and performing maintenance on certain equipment required daily or weekly. • Shape and form tubes or sheet metal components using hand tools such as a vise, hammer or bar. • Stop and ask questions when not sure of how to do a job or when a problem occurs • Track and log production requirements • Achieve production rates (i.e. number of cuts per hour) established by the production team • Assist other team members, when necessary, to achieve team goals • Solve problems and/or offer solutions to problems when they arise • Clean parts per procedures • Be part of team and have the ability to work well among them • Be helpful and courteous to others • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
