We are seeking a Cabinetmakers Assistant for full time work in our high end cabinet shop in Jersey City. Experience is preferred but not required. Competitive compensation to be determined by experience. Applicants should be proficient in the use of woodworking tools that measure, cut and glue and need to be able to follow instruction in sanding detailed architectural elements. We will teach you our more advanced processes if you show enthusiasm and the ability to learn them. Our ideal candidate is a hard worker that can take direction and is eager to learn. Work Expectations: - Basic Shop Safety - Familiarity with wood shop tools: Measuring and marking tools, drills, saws, clamps, wood glue, files, chisels, sanders, paint - Maintain wood tools and equipment, as well as keeping the woodshop clean. - Function as part of a team or independently.
