Smart Steps is an exciting new startup dedicated to helping children grow in confidence, coordination, and creativity — from their first crawl to their first cartwheel. We’re building something special: a fun, movement-based learning environment where kids thrive physically and emotionally. We’re looking for an energetic, organized, and passionate Manager / Head Coach to help us bring this vision to life. ⸻ Position: Manager / Head Coach Type: Full-time (or strong part-time transitioning to full-time) Location: West Hempstead, NY (new facility opening soon) Start Date: ASAP ⸻ About the Role You’ll be at the heart of Smart Steps — leading our team, shaping our class culture, and delivering a top-tier experience for families. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who loves working with children and wants to grow alongside a brand-new company. ⸻ Key Responsibilities • Oversee daily operations and ensure a safe, fun, and engaging environment • Lead and teach age-based movement classes (from toddlers to pre-teens) • Hire, train, and manage assistant coaches and front-desk staff • Coordinate scheduling, membership management, and parent communication • Assist with community outreach, open houses, and social media presence • Help refine curriculum, special events, and birthday party programs ⸻ Qualifications & Skills ✅ Background in children’s fitness, gymnastics, dance, early childhood education, or coaching ✅ Strong leadership & communication skills — comfortable leading teams and parents alike ✅ High energy, positive attitude, and a genuine love for working with kids ✅ Organized, dependable, and proactive (startup experience a plus!) ✅ CPR / First Aid certified (or willing to obtain) ✅ Basic computer skills (POS, scheduling software like MindBody or iClassPro preferred) ⸻ What We Offer • Competitive starting pay with performance-based growth potential • Opportunity to shape and grow a brand-new children’s fitness company • Supportive, family-first environment • Leadership pathway to become General Manager / Partner-level role as we scale ⸻ If you’re ready to help kids take their Smart Steps toward confidence, movement, and fun — we’d love to meet you!
