The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of medical office management, including experience in clinical settings and utilization management. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining high standards of patient care, and managing administrative functions effectively. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating the collection of payments. This role is essential in maintaining the financial health of our ENT practice while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Office Manager/Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. This job can begin as part-time working up to full-time, depending on needs of the candidate and Ear Bar.
Duties
Manage the overall operations of the medical office, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Oversee budgeting processes and financial management to optimize resource allocation.
Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure effective utilization management and quality patient care.
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Supervise staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to foster a productive work environment.
Implement and manage electronic health record systems such as Practice Fusion and Tebra for streamlined operations.
Collaborate with insurance companies for managed care agreements and billing processes.
Ensure the office runs smoothly by addressing any issues related to acute care services or patient inquiries.
Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and government payers.
Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 ensure accurate billing.
Review and verify medical records for completeness and accuracy before billing.
Follow up on unpaid claims, perform medical collections, and resolve discrepancies.
Perform and follow-through on any any necessary pre-authorizations for imaging, procedures, etc.
Maintain patient confidentiality while handling sensitive medical information.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical records or billing issues.
Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Medical Office Manager and Medical Billing Specialist or similar role in a hospital or medical office setting.
Strong knowledge of medical records management, utilization management, and healthcare regulations.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems (PracticeFusion and Kareo/Tebra) is highly desirable.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare providers.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating leadership capabilities.
Proficiency in medical coding and familiarity with medical terminology is essential.
Experience with medical collection processes and systems is advantageous.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
A degree in healthcare administration or related field is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience with ENT billing and hearing aid prior authorization, purchasing, collections is a plus.
